Entrance
Head forward and take the right path at the fork. Follow this around to the elevator and use the device to go down. On the levels below, the layout can change slightly, but the order in which you proceed through the levels is always the same.
Depth 1
Continue forward over a long walkway. Once you reach a branching area, head to the right. Go down a long flight of stairs and continue forwards to reach a platform with multiple lockers. Open the locker around to the left to get your supplies (camera, flashlight, lock picking set and 2 glow sticks).
Return up the stairs and turn right again at the branching area. Walk over a large branch to the left to reach another area, then follow the passage to a locked gate. Open this with your lock picking set, then keep going forward. There is a round portal straight ahead with 3 red symbols on it. There is a cabinet to the left that contains some dynamite (1/6). Look on top of the barrel to the left to find a shack storage room key.
Go back to where you walked over the large branch and find another to the right that you can walk over to get back to the main path. Now go to the left end and use your lock picking set to open another gate here. Continue forward, following the path around to the left. Near the end there is a cassette on the right that you can listen to. Just past this is the elevator. Enter this and use the device to go down.
Depth 2
Go forward and around to the left. When you see a danger sign that says "Hard Hat Area", run straight forward and get ready to take 5 photographs (5/20) of a miner walking along a path ahead. Follow this path around to the right first, then to the left. When you see a stop sign, go through a narrow path to the right, then you will reach a large open curved pathway around to the left.
There are 2 ways to complete this level, but only one of them will give you all of the collectible items and achievements, so this path will be documented here (the other path allows you to use the shack storage room key and get 1 stick of dynamite).
When you reach the narrow plank, drop down to the left Free-Faller. Turn your flashlight back on, then look around and pick up the blood tree (1/3). Head up the nearby ramp.
Depth 3
Follow a long winding passage until you reach a small room. Collect a golden coin (1/7) from a crate, and dynamite (2/6) from another crate. Drop down over the edge.
Turn to the right and follow the path. At the end, you will find a larger room. There is another cassette on a crate to the left. Look on the table to find some bolt cutters. Turn around and go back along the path, exploring a side passage to the right. You will find a table with 2 notes to read. Keep going and at the end of the path there is a cabinet with the number 5 written on it - this means you must have at least 5 valid captures to be able to open it. Open the cabinet and take out the dynamite (3/6) and golden coin (2/7).
Return to the main path and continue to the right. Along the way you will see a lot of crosses, and another body will fall just as you reach an area with 2 closed gates.
Use the bolt cutters on the gate behind the hanging body, then go through. Follow a long path, which will end up being partially covered with water. Ignore the larger pool of water on the left for now and keep going straight. At the end, pick up the gas container. When you turn around, the path will now be blocked, so you must jump down into the larger pool of water below. Go back out to the corridor and turn right. Walk slowly forward and the lights will go out, then you will be confronted with a glowing man - you can sometimes get 1 photograph (6/20) as he initially appears. Walk slowly forward and get ready to take 5 photographs (11/20) of another miner running towards you. You will pass out.
You will wake up looking at the base of a large tree. There is a crate that holds some more dynamite (4/6) and another golden coin (3/7). Pick up the nearby plank of wood. Go towards the other end of this room to find a note on the floor. There is an archway with a sign pointing to Hell Hole.
The Hell Hole does not result in any extra collectible items, and will result in a slower path downwards.
Ignore the sign and head up the wooden boardwalk. This will curve around the tree. Use the wooden plank to bridge the gap in the boardwalk, then keep going all the way to the top. Open the gate at the end, and you will be back with the hanging body from earlier.
Turn right and follow the winding path back to the cabinet with the number 5. There is now a new path leading away from this room. Follow this and you will eventually reach a closed gate. Turn the wheel on the left wall to open it. Go through and your path will be stopped by a falling rock. Turn left to find a large room with a generator on the right. Use the gas container to power it up. Enter the elevator and use the device to go down.
The elevator will get stuck on this journey. After it slowly starts up again, be ready to take a photograph (12/20) of a man just outside the elevator (behind the handle). The elevator will continue down after this.
Depth 4
Leave the elevator and listen to a cassette, then go forward and around to the right. Open a gate, then drop down to a lower section (you cannot come back this way). After you turn a corner to the left, you will reach the main path through the level - don't go straight to the end of this yet.
Turn left at the first intersection (with the trash bags). You will soon reach another intersection - turn right this time and pull the lever at the dead end. Go back to the intersection and take the left path, where you will find a fuse detonator to pick up, and will see a cave-in with fallen rocks. Place 3 sticks of dynamite here (don't worry, they won't detonate automatically).
Return to the intersection and now take the straight path, which is marked by an angled beam with a light. Just ahead there will be two paths - first take the one on the left with 3 stacked boxes. Take note of the small green sign here with 8 markers around the edge. Go back past the boxes and take the other path, which will lead back to the main path through the middle of the level.
Continue straight across and you will find a room with a small red sign with 5 markers around the edge. There is also a glow stick on some boxes. Continue straight to a room with some trees and 2 gold coins (5/7) on blue barrels. Turn around and take the left exit from this room to find a room with more trees and a small yellow sign with 7 markers around the edge. Go back past the barrels where you got the 2 coins into a corridor with a small silver sign with 3 markers around the edge. Turn the corner ahead to the left and quickly take a 2 photographs (14/20) of a miner coming towards you. Continue along this path to find a gold coin (6/7) and a device, both on top of a crate. This device will show you a number at the top left of your screen, measuring your exposure level - this will keep increasing over time.
Drop down into the room below and pull the lever here, then continue forward to return to the main path through the level. You can now go straight to the end, over a small bridge. Once you near the large metal door, you will be prompted to detonate the dynamite you placed earlier. Go back to where you placed this and go through the new opening to find a fire axe Rescue Team.
Now go to the metal door again. Pull the lever on the left, and the door will eventually open. In the next room, there is a machine that lets you buy dynamite (5/6) for 6 gold coins. Next to this is a safe. The combination for the safe is based on the 4 small signs: 5837 Code Cracker!. Inside the safe, take the blood tree (2/3), dynamite (6/6) Demolitionist and 2 gold coins (8/7) Gold Miner.
Keep going and get ready to take a photograph (15/20) of a motionless miner. Go over and take the key from him. Go back to the safe and take the other passage. Listen to a cassette here, then use the key to open a gate. Pull the lever to turn on a pump. Go back to the motionless miner and climb down the stairs behind him. Get into the elevator and use the device.
Depth 5
Head around the elevator and follow the path beyond. Open the gate and keep going. Drop down over a ledge into some shallow water, and keep going forwards. Open the next gate. Open the door with the "Do Not Enter" warning, as well as the next unmarked door. Immediately turn around and take 8 photographs (23/20) of a miner walking towards you Expert Photographer.
Continue through a series of further doors until you start heading upwards again. You will soon reach an area with 4 cages you can enter. In one you will find dynamite (7/6) and a cassette. In another you will find a note and a cabinet with the number 20 on it - this means you must have at least 20 valid captures to be able to open it. Open the cabinet and take out the final blood tree (3/3) Collector. The third cage contains a large plank, and the fourth one is empty.
Head back to where you dropped down into shallow water and turn left to find another passage. Go to the end of the rocks and use the large plank here. Use the fire axe to cut down the planks on the left. Go through and place another 3 sticks of dynamite on the crate. Walk to the shallow water and you will be prompted to detonate the dynamite.
Explore the area beyond the explosion and find a note, as well as a gas mask on a crate Gas Mask Located!. Immediately put this on, and the exposure counter will stop going up.
Return to the shallow water, then go through the doors and cage area. Head through an unlocked door just beyond the cages. You will now be presented with three adjacent doors, numbered 0, 8 and 16. You can open only one of these doors, and you must have at least the matching number of valid captures to be able to open them.
All 3 doors have the same outcome, but slightly different paths. All contain a miner and eventually lead to an elevator.
Open door 16 and follow the curving passage. At the intersection, go to the right. After turning to the left, a miner will run at you, so quickly take 2 photographs (25/20). Keep going and head up the stairs at the end. Follow the path and listen to another cassette in an open area. Continue through to reach an elevator on the right - there is another note you can read in the side room to the left. Enter the elevator and use the device.
Depth 6
There are 5 different endings to the game.
Sickened Ending
If you arrive at Depth 6 and you have 100% exposure, there you will die shortly after the speech Achieve Ending 1.
Defeated Ending
You must have less than 100% exposure when you arrive at Depth 6. Head forward towards the glowing tree, then keep going straight ahead. Climb up the rocks at the far end of the lake, then go either left or right around the rock ahead. You will find two elevators. Listen to the cassette, then go up in the right elevator. When you reach Depth 1, you will find that the entrance to the mine has been sealed and you are trapped Achieve Ending 2.
Adventurous Ending
You must have less than 100% exposure when you arrive at Depth 6. Head forward towards the glowing tree, then keep going straight ahead. Climb up the rocks at the far end of the lake, then go either left or right around the rock ahead. You will find two elevators. Listen to the cassette, then go down in the left elevator Locate Depth 7. Pick up the access card from the floor, and use it on the right side of the large door ahead Achieve Ending 3.
Fatal Ending
This starts the same as the Defeated Ending, but you must make it back up to Depth 1 within 30 minutes. Once you reach here, make your way back to the mine entrance.
Magical Ending
This starts the same as the Adventurous Ending, but once you pick up the access card, get back into the elevator and go up. Take the other elevator back up to Depth 1. You must have the access card and the 3 blood trees, then you can open the portal at the top of this elevator.
