Dream Chronicles 4 is the fourth in a series of 5 surreal hybrid hidden object and adventure games. This game continues on from Dream Chronicles 3. You now play as Faye's daughter Lyra, finding yourself in an alternate dimension of your hometown Wish. The game is set several years in the future compared with the first 3 games in the series. The series continues with Dream Chronicles 5.

Village of Wish

Streets

Pick up the gear and put it on the side of the box, then open the box and look inside. Take the journal and note. Pick up the 8 statue pieces and reassemble the statue from bottom to top, then open the doors and go inside.

Classroom

Find 11 dream pieces, then click on the chalkboard. Find 2 dream pieces, then pull the handle from the middle of the board to reveal a code. Use your decipher jewel to reveal the correct text, then back out from the chalkboard. This next part is different depending on your difficulty level.

Open the book on the left desk to see a puzzle that changes depending on your mode; either way start by using your decipher jewel.

Casual Mode

Open the book on the left desk to see a puzzle; decipher it with your decipher jewel. Find 4 dream pieces, then enter Sun, Sign, Sign and Locked as the missing symbols. Click on the middle book to see another puzzle, decipher it, and enter J and P as the missing letters. Open the book on the right, decipher it, and enter Sign, Sun, Locked and Locked as the missing symbols.

Challenge Mode

Open the book on the left desk to see a puzzle; decipher it with your decipher jewel. Find 4 dream pieces, then enter E, K and P as the missing letters. Click on the middle book to see another puzzle, decipher it, and enter Unlocked, Sign, Sun, Sign, Sign, Unlocked and Locked as the missing symbols. Open the book on the right, decipher it, and enter Unlocked, Up, Sun, Down, Sun, Sign and Unlocked as the missing symbols.

Now look at the cabinet. Find 4 dream pieces, then read the note on the left and enter the symbols you learned from each of the books; a map will appear and then break into pieces. Find the 6 map pieces around the room, then go and put them back in the cabinet. Solve the jigsaw puzzle, then take the map and go back to the chalkboard. Read the note, then use your decipher jewel again. Highlight the words corresponding to the images shown, which will be one of these groups:

  • Circle, Triangle, Rectangle, Square, Pentagon
  • Earth, Comet, Star, Saturn, Moon
  • Earth, Water, Air, Fire, Time

Go through the portal that appears on the chalkboard.

Airship

Find 8 dream pieces, then pick up the key from the ground and use it to unlock the airship door. Pick up the note and read it before going inside. Find another 6 dream pieces, pick up and read another note from the ground, then use your map on the wall on the right. Head back outside.

Pick up the pile of colored stones from the ground. Now pick up the propeller, 2 flaps, 3 rope segments and a deflated balloon. Put all of these on the airship to repair it, then go back inside. Look at the map on the wall and use your reveal jewel to find a new location. Move your cursor over the Crater of Time on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials.

Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Find 6 dream pieces, then read the note. Put your colored stones in the hole on the right. Now remove groups of stones of the same color to fill up the fuel gauge; an almost foolproof way is to leave one color completely untouched until your last click. If you fail to get enough fuel, go and get some more colored stones and try again. When successful, pull the lever to take off.

Crater of Time

Clockmaker Tower

Find 8 dream pieces, then read the note. The sundial is casting a shadow over the number VI. Look at the door and find another 5 dream pieces. Click on the small button at the bottom right to start the clock, then click it again to stop it when it reaches 6 o'clock. Head inside.

Find 7 dream pieces, then read another note. Look at the door on the left to see a puzzle mechanism. Back out and pick up 2 small gears, then look at the door again. Place the gears on the puzzle, then find 3 dream pieces. Solve the puzzle by making all the gears touch each other in the grid so the one on the far side starts spinning.

Communication Room

Find 12 dream pieces, then read the note on the floor. Pick up the metal bell from the right of the desk and use it to fix the incomplete bell on the left. Pipe up the pipe from the floor and use it on the broken pipe on the left.

Now look at the guest book. Find 6 dream pieces, then use your reveal jewel. Complete the text by filling in the missing letters from those on the left. You will receive a metal tile. Back out and next look at the mechanism on the back wall. Find another 5 dream pieces, then read the note here and insert your metal tile. Turn the tiles to match the patterns shown in the guest book, then the gears will turn. Back out and ring the bell, then click on the pipes to talk to the Clockmaker. Give these responses:

  • I'm trying to find my way home. I don't belong here.
  • Yes, I need to get back to my own dimension.
  • Where are they?
  • That sounds difficult but I will do my best.
  • Very well. I shall return.

Leave to the left, then look at the door on the right. Find 3 dream pieces, then read the note. Use your reveal jewel, then solve the jigsaw puzzle. Find another 10 dream pieces, then read the note on the floor. Now use the controls to change the time of all the clocks to 6:00 (use the left buttons to set the amount to change the time, the right dial to select a clock to change, and the middle button to actually change a clock by the amount selected). Once you are done, pick up some colored stones.

Go back to the airship again. Look at the map on the wall and use your reveal jewel to find a new location. Move your cursor over Treehouse Village on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials. Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Put in your colored stones and make enough fuel to fill the gauge, then back out and pull the lever to take off.

Treehouse Village

Find 12 dream pieces, then read the note on the left tree. Use your transmute jewel to change all the trees back to normal. Pick up some sticks and colored stones from the ground. Now look at each of the 4 trees for a puzzle; collect 2 dream pieces from each, then place your sticks in position and press the button at the top to get a walnut to drop into the hole at the bottom. Now pick up the ornate key from the ground.

Go back to the airship again. Look at the map on the wall and use your reveal jewel to find a new location. Move your cursor over Wind Music Island on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials. Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Put in your colored stones and make enough fuel to fill the gauge, then back out and pull the lever to take off.

Wind Music Island

Find 10 dream pieces, then read the note on the pillar. Pick up some colored stones before looking at the far columns in the top right. Read the note and find another 8 dream pieces. This puzzle contains 4 columns each with 5 rotating stones, called A-E from top to bottom. Clicking on the stones spins them around and they will turn green when in their correct positions (keep clicking the same stone until it turns green, then move to the next one in the order shown below):

Casual Mode

Column 1: Spin stones in order EDCBA
Column 2: Spin stones in order ABCDE
Column 3: Spin stones in order CBADE
Column 4: Spin stones in any order until they turn green

Challenge Mode

Column 1: Spin stones in order EDCBA
Column 2: Spin stones in order EDCBA
Column 3: Spin stones in order BEDCA
Column 4: Spin stones in order EDCBAED

You need to know the appearance of these 4 columns once you are finished, so write them down or take a screenshot for later. Back out of here and go to the cave underneath. Use your brilliance jewel to light the cave. Find 8 dream pieces, then pick up the hammer and 2 cylinders. Read the note from the ground. Use the hammer 4 times on the crystal mountain on the right to get 4 blank blue stones. Place the cylinders in the machine on the left, then insert a blank blue stone. Click on the cylinders, then select the symbols from the first column from before. Back out and pull the lever to create a scored stone. Repeat this with the other 3 stones (using the symbols from the other 3 columns).

Back out of the cave and zoom in on the ledge between the upper and lower areas on the right. Find 9 dream pieces, then read the next note. Insert your first scored stone in the first slot, then back out to see the beach. Pick up the 10 instrument/statue pieces and then place them back where they belong. Zoom back in on the ledge. Place your second stone in the second slot, third stone in the third slot, and fourth stone in the fourth slot. If you make any mistakes you can go back to the cave and try again. When they are all done, you will get another ornate key.

Go back to the airship again. Look at the map on the wall and use your reveal jewel to find a new location. Move your cursor over Water Collector on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials. Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Put in your colored stones and make enough fuel to fill the gauge, then back out and pull the lever to take off.

Water Collector

Find 13 dream pieces, then read the note. Pick up some colored stones and 3 pieces of pipe, then use the pieces of pipe to fix the broken segments. Now use your thunder jewel to make it rain. Pick up the small key next to the pool and use this on the hut door, then head inside.

Use your brilliance jewel to light up the hut. Find 10 dream pieces, then read the note on the steps. Now collect 6 carved planks, the bull head, owl head, chalice, cup and vase. Look at the wooden structure on the right to see five symbols indicating different weights. Back out to notice a set of complex scales on the left of the screen. Add carved planks to the slots to create one of the symbols from the right structure. Place one of your 5 weights on the right side of the scales, then pull the lever. If the scales balance, move this weight to the appropriate position on the right structure, and if not choose another weight and try again. Repeat this with all 5 symbols and place the weights in their appropriate positions. You will automatically get another ornate key, so head back outside.

Go back to the airship again. Look at the map on the wall and move your cursor over Crater of Time on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials. Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Put in your colored stones and make enough fuel to fill the gauge, then back out and pull the lever to take off.

Crater of Time

Enter the tower and climb the stairs, then look at the top left door. Find 3 dream pieces, then back out and pick up the 3 sets of clock numbers from the ground. Look at the top left door again and insert your numbers. Now just repeat the pattern (6 in length in Casual Mode, 9 in length in Challenge Mode) and you will be inside.

Use your brilliance jewel to light up the room. Find 5 dream pieces, then pick up the iron key from the ground on the right. Insert your 3 ornate keys into the circles in the wall. Look at each door in turn. To solve the puzzles you must make each gear within the lock turn when you press the button at the bottom left. You don't have to use all the gears available to do this. At the first door on the left you will also need to unlock the central gear with your iron key. Once you have completed all 3 puzzles and the machine is activated, head outside. Enter the right door and get some colored stones, then go back outside and down.

Go back to the airship again. Look at the map on the wall and move your cursor over Wish on the map to get the coordinates. Click on the control wheel and set the coordinates appropriately using the two dials. Now look at the fuel machine on the right. Put in your colored stones and make enough fuel to fill the gauge, then back out and pull the lever to take off.

Bonus Chapter

Open the book on the left and examine it. Unscramble the words to "guide", "follow", "complete", "instructions" and "dreamer". Take the dark vibrating map from the right side and put it up on the wall.

Lilith's Mansion

Pick up the intricate key from the floating steps. Look at the map to see a locked chest. Use your key to unlock the chest and look inside. Solve the jigsaw puzzle, then back out of the map.

Tower of Dreams

Pick up another intricate key from a shelf on the left. Look at the map and unlock another chest, then look inside. Unscramble the words "solving", "memories", "discover", "family", "magic" and "dreaming". Back out of the map.

Observatory

Find another key on a box on the right. Look at the map and unlock another chest, then look inside. Solve the jigsaw puzzle, then back out of the map.

Barge City

Take the next key from the sofa on the left. Look at the map and unlock another chest, then look inside. Unscramble the words "airship", "returning", "enormous", "think", "ominous" and "caught". Back out of the map.

Desert of the Lost

Grab the last key from the desk. Look at the map and unlock another chest, then look inside. Solve this jigsaw puzzle to complete the bonus chapter.
