Temujin is a first person adventure making use of full motion video. You are a visitor to the Stevenson Museum, where the artifacts of the Mongolian Empire have been assembled and are slowly regaining their powers. The next game by SouthPeak Interactive using the same technology, is Dark Side of the Moon.

Episode 1: Free Spirit

Great Hall

Look left and down at the guest book. Look back up and slightly right, then take a museum map from the holder on the wall. Look at this in your inventory to see the layout of the museum. Now turn right and walk into the middle of the room to meet Laurie. Now head through the door to the far right. You will briefly meet Susanna, then she will turn and leave. Turn around and go back through the last door on the left.

Gift Shop

After Lorena leaves, look down at the counter and read the newspaper on the counter. Turn to the right to find 4 jigsaw puzzles, and solve each of them, then double-click to reveal a message on the back:

  • This Mongol sword is believed to have been used in Genghis Khan's burial ceremony. Blood sacrifice was not a part of the ritual, yet the dark stains may in fact be human.
  • These ceremonial knives were used in religious rites during the reign of Genghis Khan.
  • This ball with its unique golden stand depicting carved goat heads is said to be a focusing crystal for ancient Mongol Magic.
  • The Capricorn Head is the centerpiece of the Stevenson Museum's collection of treasures from the tomb of Genghis Khan.

Leave the gift shop and go back along the corridor, then through the bright red door on the right (where you saw Susanna come from earlier).

Capricorn Collection

Click on the gem in the goat's skull to see that Mei is trapped inside. Turn around and approach the sarcophagus, then open it. Take the note from the man's jacket pocket (a folder will appear on the right of your screen). Also take the pocket watch from his hand. Look at the pocket watch and note the inscription:

  • To MAS, the Genghis Khan of Wall Street. From your minions at Fealty Investments.

Behind the left side of the sarcophagus, you will find an empty pedestal. Click on the nameplate to find out there is a chalice missing from here. Leave this room and you will see Susanna arguing with Jordan. Enter the first door on the left, which is labeled "Employees Only".

Break Room

You will very briefly meet Franklin, who will leave as you enter. Take the foam cup, then look at the bench and pick up a plastic spoon and some sugar cubes. Open the freezer to the right and take out the ice. Leave this room and turn right down the corridor, then enter the first office after the Capricorn Collection.

Laurie Wood's Office

Approach the desk. Read the note in the middle of the desk, then use the phone to listen to both of the voice mail messages. Leave the room and turn right again. Enter the door straight ahead.

Jordan Cooper's Office

Approach the desk. Use the phone to listen to all 4 voice mail messages. Also read a letter from Macy (hidden beneath some brochures). From the other part of the desk, pick up a match and 4 different types of paper clips (small, medium, large, bundle). Leave the office, turn right and find Franklin Macy's Office.

Franklin Macy's Office

Approach the desk. Use the phone to listen to all 3 voice mail messages. Go back out to the corridor, then through the next door on the right.

Matthew Stevenson's Office

Take the chalice from the fireplace. Approach the desk. Open the left drawer and read the note inside. Next use the phone, then listen to all 6 voice mail messages. Also press the Page button on the phone to page Susanna. Go over to the glass case holding the sword and examine it. Use your spoon to collect a blood sample from the sword. Leave the office and head left around the corridors until you see Susanna come out of a room, then head inside.

Restoration Studio

Go over to the workbenches on the left, and look at the right bench. Take the 2 small bottles, then open the small wooden box and read the poem inside, which mentions the volumes of 3 containers:

  • Airline bottle: 2 ounces
  • Wine bottle: 6 ounces
  • Flask: 11 ounces

Leave this room and turn left, then enter the next room.

New Artists' Gallery

Grab a small hot-air balloon from one of the exhibits. Find a contraption where you can release a small metal ball and then take the leaf from the broken vase. Find another contraption where you can release 3 small metal balls, and you will hear things breaking. Leave here for now and return to the previous room.

Restoration Studio

You will find Reg lying down in here. After he leaves, pick up his flask from the table.

Break Room

Find the water cooler on the left end of the kitchen bench. Fill up the flask and the small airline bottle with water. Put the wine bottle inside the foam cup. Pour the flask into the wine bottle, and the cup will end up holding 5 ounces. Now pour the water from the airline bottle into the cup, which will end up holding 7 ounces. Pour this water into the chalice. Add your blood sample.

Capricorn Collection

Pour the blood from the chalice on to the goat's skull.

Episode 2: Past Tense

Great Hall

Examine the crystal ball, then go through the door to the left to return to the corridors.

Franklin Macy's Office

After Franklin talks to you, leave his office. As you walk along the corridor, you will overhear a conversation between Susanna and Jordan in Jordan Cooper's Office. Keep going to the studio.

Restoration Studio

Talk to Lorena, who is helping out here.

New Artists' Gallery

Mei will appear with a message about a book inside a box. Try to open the box, but it is locked.

Gift Shop

Mei will appear again here. Take the mystic camera from the counter (it will appear on the left of your screen), and the puzzle from the shelves on the right (it will appear on the right of your screen). If you click on this you should have received 4 puzzle pieces (4/9) for completing the 4 jigsaw puzzles earlier.

Matthew Stevenson's Office

After Reg leaves, look down at the desk and take the screwdriver.

Jordan Cooper's Office

Take the broken shard of glass, and the blue rubber ball from the desk. Examine the filing cabinet here. Combine the screwdriver and small paper clip, then use this on the filing cabinet. Read the documents in the top and bottom drawers about Jordan Cooper/Coopersmith.

New Artists' Gallery

Approach the box. Combine the screwdriver and large paper clip, then use this on the box to open it. Examine the book, which is covered by scorpions. Hold the broken glass so light shines on a scorpion, and another will attack and kill it. Repeat this until only one scorpion remains. Back away from the book and you will crush the final scorpion (the book will appear at the top of your screen). As you back away, Mei will tell you to start collecting 28 memories in the book.

Gift Shop

Take the video tape from the counter.

Capricorn Collection

Take a photograph of the sarcophagus (1/5).

Matthew Stevenson's Office

Go to the desk. Combine the screwdriver and medium paper clip, then use this on the middle drawer. Take the cassette tape and money from inside the drawer. Use the screwdriver and medium paper clip to pick the lock on the right drawer, then open it. Take a memory of the Walkman (1/28), then pick it up. Open the left drawer again and take a memory of the work order (2/28). Open the middle drawer and take a memory of the photograph (3/28). Look at the telephone, then search the spittoon by the desk and take a memory of a letter (4/28). Leave here and find a door out to the garden.

Garden

After Nick leaves, look at the bench where he was sitting. Examine the newspaper and drag the letters around to spell the words CAPRICORN, MUSEUM, TREASURE and ADVENTURE. Now solve the final puzzle with the word DISCUS. Leave the garden and go through the only main door you haven't visited.

Security

Go straight over to the open briefcase and take a memory of the comic book (5/28). Return to the tall lockers near the door. Open Nick's locker and look at the photos inside. Open the locker to the right. Open the pill bottle and take the bugging from inside. Close the bottle and the locker. Turn left to see a dartboard, and grab the 3 darts.

Now examine the security system. Turn the small knob just below the map to vertical, then insert your video tape. You will automatically watch it and then hide when Nick enters.

Jordan Cooper's Office

Go over to the desk and take a memory of the compact (6/28). Look at the telephone, then grab the paper from the rubbish bin. Take a memory of the restaurant menu (7/28). On the other side of the desk, take a memory of the brochure (8/28). Walk over to the bookshelf and take a memory of a book (9/28).

Laurie Wood's Office

Approach the desk. Combine the screwdriver and small paper clip, then use this on all 3 drawers. Look in the right drawer to find an article with crossed-out letters. Look in the middle drawer and take the perfume and scissors. Look in the left drawer and read the note and letter. When you scroll down to read the letter, Laurie will come in and put it back in the drawer. Look at it again and take a memory of the letter (10/28).

Go over to the dresser. Open the top-left drawer and read the note. Open the small box inside the drawer and examine the present. Back out and try to open the bottom drawer, but it is locked.

Franklin Macy's Office

Find a small black filing cabinet next to a sofa. Combine the screwdriver and medium paper clip, then use this to unlock it the top and bottom drawers. Search the top drawer and read a supply order. In here you can also take a memory of a news article (11/28). Search the bottom drawer and read another letter. Back out and go to the desk. Take a memory of the employment contract (12/28).

Restoration Studio

Susanna will be angry and will then leave. Take a memory of the ring (13/28) on the central table. Turn right and open the metal cabinet, taking an electric crucible and vial of acid from inside. Turn around and go over to the workbenches.

Look at the right bench and take a memory of the latex (14/28) on the left. Pick up some toothpicks from a small container on the right. Look at the note on the wall above here, then take a memory of the note (15/28). Turn around to the opposite bench. Open the pink box. Take out the letter and look at it, then take a memory of the letter (16/28). Also take a memory of the necklace (17/28) in the pink box.

Now head over towards the large window. Turn right and pick up the strange tilting blue lever. Now go to the left corner. Find a small toolbox and have a closer look. Take a memory of the scalpel (18/28). Pour your acid on the key embedded in glue here. Examine the electric crucible in your inventory. Turn it on, then put the bundle of paper clips inside. Now use the crucible on the blue and take your new key.

Laurie Wood's Office

Go to the dresser and use your new key on the bottom drawer. Open the drawer and open the box inside. Read the letter and take a memory of the letter (19/28). Also take a memory of the bullets (20/28).

Break Room

Look at the dining table and take a memory of the note (21/28), then pick it up. Go through the other door here into the Supply Room. Turn left and take a memory of the note (22/28), then pick it up. Search the shelves at the other end of the room and take a metal pole, some glue and a set of scales.

Gift Shop

Look at the counter and take a memory of the statue (23/28).

Great Hall

You now need to get Nick to appear in the Great Hall. The most consistent way to do this is to go outside Matthew Stevenson's office, then head straight through the garden, and out to the Great Hall through the doors next to the gift shop.

Episode 3: Machine Impossible

Great Hall

Nick will talk to you and tell you to visit Franklin. Go to the fireplace at the end of the hall. Pick up the poker and use it on the logs, then take a memory of the note (24/28). Also examine the statue here and grab a puzzle piece (5/9) from its crotch.

Franklin Macy's Office

Franklin wants a cup of tea, and gives you a tea cup. As you leave the office, you will run into Nick again.

Matthew Stevenson's Office

Go to the desk and read the Machine Impossible book. Turn to the page that lists the parts required to create "The Englishman's Friend". You should already have most of these parts already:

  • 1 tea bag (here)
  • 8 sugar cubes (from the Employees Only Tea Room)
  • 1 teacup (from Franklin)
  • 1 tea or coffee pot (here)
  • 1 hot plate (here)
  • 1 wind-propelled model vehicle (here)
  • 1 balloon (from the New Artists' Gallery)
  • 1 rubber ball (from Jordan Cooper's Office)
  • 1 scale or balance (from the Supply Room)
  • 1 lever with shifting center of gravity (from the Restoration Studio)
  • 1 30" pole or rod (from the Supply Room)
  • 26 wooden toothpicks (from the Restoration Studio)
  • 1 glue (from the Supply Room)

Turn right from the desk and examine the tea service. Press the button beneath the tea pot, but nothing happens. You need to make the machine as indicated in the book:

  1. Place the scales to the right of the tea pot.
  2. Put the teacup on the main plate of the scales.
  3. Take a tea bag from the container on the left, and put it in the teacup.
  4. Stand the metal pole up on the right side of the scales.
  5. Use the glue on the toothpicks (you will need to back out briefly to do this).
  6. Put your glued toothpicks on the right shelf above the metal pole.
  7. Place the sugar cubes on the right shelf.
  8. Put the balloon over the spout of the tea pot.
  9. Place the tilting blue lever to the left of the tea pot.
  10. Put the blue rubber ball on the left shelf.

Press the button beneath the tea pot, and the machine should work. Take the tea bag out of the teacup, then pick up the teacup.

Franklin Macy's Office

You will automatically give the tea to Franklin, then he will leave. Go to the desk and pick up the teacup. Look at it in your inventory, and take out the puzzle piece (6/9).

Break Room

Go into the back of the Supply Room, then come back out to the tea room and you will overhear a conversation between Lorena and Jordan.

Capricorn Collection

Take a photograph of the goat head (2/5).

Restoration Studio

Inside here you will find Susana complaining about a tape recorder not working.

Great Hall

Head out near the entrance doors and look down at the guest book. Pick up the flashlight. Examine this and take out the batteries.

Restoration Studio

Reg will be on the phone when you enter, then he will leave. Go over to the workbenches and examine the tape recorder on the top left shelf. Use the batteries and then the cassette tape on it, then use the tape recorder to listen to it.

Great Hall

You now need to get Nick to appear in the Great Hall. The most consistent way to do this is to go through the doors next to Matthew Stevenson's office.

Episode 4: Flash Back

New Artists' Gallery

Nick will talk to you some more.

Restoration Studio

Go out towards the window and turn right to see Susanna.

Garden

Look down at the bench and pick up the paint brush. Turn around and go straight towards the brick wall. Examine it more closely to find a gray brick. Throw 2 of your darts at the top-right and bottom-right corners, and the brick will open outwards. Look inside to see a note and a photograph.

Capricorn Collection

From the goat skull, turn right and take a photograph of the tall Jebei statue (3/5). From the entrance of the room, turn immediately left and go to the corner to see a map. Use your scalpel to cut some hair from the helmet in front of the map.

Restoration Studio

Go around to where Susanna was working on her painting. Examine the painting closely. Dip the paintbrush in the white bowl, then drag it over the rectangle in the painting to turn it completely red. The red will fade when you stop painting. Back away and head out of the room - Mei will tell you that you need a more powerful solution.

Capricorn Collection

Use the large catapult to the right. Turn it to the left until it is facing the gongs. Pick up a stone and shoot it so it hits the small gong. While this is still swinging, quickly shoot a second stone, and it will hit the tall Jebei statue. Go over to it and look down, then grab the broken horn from the top of the wooden cabinet.

Restoration Studio

Head to the workbenches on the left, and look at the left one. Use the broken horn on the mortar and pestle to get ground horn. Now head back around to Susanna's painting. Use the ground horn in the white bowl. Dip the paintbrush in the white bowl, then drag it over the rectangle in the painting to turn it completely red. After the flashback, click on the painting again to get the next puzzle piece (7/9).

Great Hall

You now need to get Mei to appear in the Great Hall. The most consistent way to do this is to go through the doors next to Matthew Stevenson's office.

Episode 5: In Security

Great Hall

Follow Mei out of the Great Hall, along the corridor and into Security.

Security

Turn right to see Mei again, and you will automatically use the security system. Complete these actions:

  • New Artists' Gallery: Press the Reset button, then the Unlock button to let Nick out
  • Franklin Macy's Office: Press the Unlock button to let Franklin out.
  • Break Room: Press the Unlock button to let Franklin in, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Franklin Macy's Office: Press the Unlock button to let Nick in, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Break Room: Press the Unlock button to let Nick in, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Break Room: Press the Unlock button to let Franklin in, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Restoration Studio: Press the Unlock button to let Franklin in and get a screwdriver, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Break Room: Press the Unlock button to let Franklin in and open the power box, then press it again to let him back out.
  • Great Hall: Press the Unlock button to let Lorena out.
  • Break Room: Press the Unlock button to let Nick in and get zapped, then press it again to let him back out.

Take the puzzle piece (8/9).

Franklin Macy's Office

Open the doors to the bookcase, then turn the wall lamp just to the left and you will enter a secret room. Look on the shelves to the left. Take a memory of the cassette (25/28), then take the cassette. Next look at the piece of wood on the left and take a memory of the small note (26/28), before picking up the small note. Grab the small dagger from on top of a tattered book. Take a memory of the pottery (27/28) on the right. Turn right and take a photograph of the brick wall (4/5). Keep turning right and take a memory of the blueprint (28/28). Look back out through the bookcase to overhear a conversation between Franklin and Lorena.

Episode 6: Comic Book

Great Hall

Nick will talk to you and then leave.

Security

Grab the final puzzle piece (9/9) from the desk, then assemble the puzzle. After the flashback, solve another jigsaw puzzle. Read the comic book, choosing between the available options when prompted. Solve 2 more jigsaw puzzles.

Restoration Studio

Go to the workbenches on the right and use the tape recorder. Insert the new cassette tape and listen to it.

Franklin Macy's Office

Open the doors to the bookcase, then turn the wall lamp just to the left. Take the key and bugging device from Nick's body. Turn around and you will see Mei again.

Episode 7: Rite of Passage

Great Hall

Listen to the voice, then leave.

Matthew Stevenson's Office

Click on the painting over the drinks cabinet to reveal a safe. Examine the Walkman in your inventory and turn it on (the light will go green). Put your new bug on the safe (above the handle). Now you need to work out the combination, which is different for each game.

Step One

First you need to work out which numbers are in the combination. You need to try six-digit combinations and listen for the sounds afterwards. You will here a musical sound, followed by a number of clicks (which indicates how many numbers are correct), followed by a buzzer.

  • Enter code 000000 and count the clicks.
  • Enter code 111111 and count the clicks.
  • Repeat until 999999.
  • You now know the numbers of the combination.

Step Two

Now you need to work out the correct order. For this you will need to use a combination of numbers you know are in the correct code (written here as Y), and number that is not in the correct combination (written here as X).

  • Enter code YXXXXX and count the clicks.
  • If there is a click, the number Y is in the correct spot.
  • If not, try XYXXXX and so on.
  • Repeat for all numbers in the combination.

Enter the correct code. Pull the handle to open the safe, and take the video tape from inside.

Capricorn Collection

Take a photograph of the goat head (5/5). After the flashback, touch the goat head to open a secret passage. Go over to the blue tapestry and move it to reveal a locked gate. Use the small dagger on this to unlock it. At the bottom of the stairs, turn right and look down, then read the letter on the body. Turn around and try to walk forward into the room, but the guard will appear. After Mei talks to you, turn left and go back upstairs.

Turn immediately right to find an incense burner next to the blue tapestry. Place these objects in the burner:

  • Hair from the helmet in the Capricorn Collection
  • Perfume from Laurie Wood's Office
  • Leaf from the New Artists' Gallery
  • Match from Jordan Cooper's Office

Return downstairs walk forward into the room - the guard will disappear. As soon as you regain control, turn around and take the half amulet from each of the door and insert them into the middle of the door. Take the amulet and examine it, then use the chalice on it again. When Xiao points at you, use the amulet on her.
