The Room

Chapter 1

Spin around the safe, then double click the envelope to zoom in on it. Slide out the letter from inside the envelope and pick up the key. Now spin the top on the round box to the right to line up the keyhole so you can insert the key. Turn the key, then lift open the lid of the box. Take the eyepiece from inside and try to use it, but nothing happens. Zoom in on the note and read it, then back out to view the safe again.

Spin around until you see the word "FIRE" written on the bottom left corner of one side of the safe. Press on this symbol, then take the peculiar old key from inside the hidden compartment that opens. Examine this in your inventory and twist the end of the key to the far left. Back out and then examine the mid portion of this side of the safe. Slide across the small wooden panel to the left, then insert your key. Turn it and take the piece of metal from inside. Spin around the safe until you see the metal plaque that says "TALISMAN". Zoom in on this and use the piece of metal on the right side of it, and turn until it falls off. Take the lens inside and you will put it in your eyepiece. Now you can use the eyepiece to get a different view of things.

Back out and spin around to the opposite side of the safe, then zoom in. Slide the small wooden panel to the left, then twist the end of your key before inserting it into the keyhole. Turn the key and a series of golden circles will be revealed. Use your eyepiece to see patterned symbols on the circles; turn them to complete the pattern and the safe will be unlocked. Open the door and retrieve your next challenge Safe Cracker.

Chapter 2

Use your lens and spin the box around until you see 3 fingerprints on one of the corners; zoom in here and push the corner panel in, then slide it up and take the book from inside. Examine the book and turn the top and bottom discs, then middle and right to open it. Read note 1/7. Take the winding key from inside, then back out of the book. Spin the top of the pillar to the right until you get a small microscope from inside. Go around to the opposite pillar and spin the bottom of this one so you can get some cotton from inside. Examine the microscope in your inventory and turn the dial on the end to line up the markings so that it expands. Use your lens and spin the box around again until you see a glowing cube with some surrounding numbers. Zoom in (still using the lens) and spin around so you can make out the four numbers around it. Stop using your lens and enter the 4 numbers (2 at the top, 5 on the left, 7 on the right, 6 at the bottom). Flip the switch on the panel that is revealed, and another section of the box will open.

Zoom in on the candle at the bottom side of this new section. Insert your piece of cotton as a wick, then turn the ignition wheel to the left and slide the mechanism up using the slider on the right. Zoom in on the two brass holders in the front of this section and insert your microscope. Now zoom in on the left bottom part of this section. Lift the small latch, then insert your winding key and turn it until the whole mechanism starts up. Now look through the microscope, but you won't see anything useful. Use your lens and look through the microscope again to see the word "TRIAL". You will now see some discs that you should spin to complete the pattern (use your lens to see a different pattern to help you). Take the letter L from the panel that opens, then zoom back out. Spin around to see a panel of 4 letters and zoom in. Insert your L in the final position, then change the other letters to spell the word "TRIAL". The first lock will open and a new section of the box will become available.

Spin around until you see a grouping of 4 gold panels; you need to find these symbols scattered around the whole device, indicating which should be selected in each corner:

• Top left: carved into a triangular section of wood near the top of the whole box
• Top right: on the inside of the slot where you retrieved the book
• Bottom left: within the glowing number box area (using your lens)
• Bottom right: carved into the wood just above and to the left of the 4 gold panels

Enter these symbols on the 4 gold panels, then take the large key. Go to the newly opened section and read note 2/7. Zoom in to the top of the open section and slide the small square latch to the left to open the top of the box. Pan around until you have got all 4 balls on the corners to light up (the colored portion should be facing straight up). Look at the panel that slides out from the side and remember the symbol you see. Now use your lens and rotate the view to recreate this symbol. Insert your large key and turn it. Pull open the small drawer to the right and take the small key from inside. Go back to the front of the open section and insert your new small key, then turn it and take the brass star. Go up to the top of the box and insert the star in the star-shaped depression to open the entire top of the box.

Read note 3/7, then pick up the metal ring. Go back down to the side of the open section and put the ring around the dial. Now turn this left and right to gradually open the sliders (left, right, right, left, right, right). Use your lens to see the numbers 2 and 3 written in the background here, then slide the two sliders up to these values. Take the key from inside, then go back to the front of this section. Examine the key in your inventory and adjust its shape, then insert it into the lock here and turn it. Pick up the circular plate, then spin around to the section with double doors and insert this plate in the middle. The second lock will open and a new section of the box will become available.

Examine the left side of the open panel. Move the bottom switch to the left, then turn the crank handle until the top of the box slides up further. Look at the 4 gold segments here; you need to turn these to free the corners of the inner rectangular drawer, and their orientation is controlled by similar dials scattered around the box:

• Top left: circle symbol near top of pillar to left of open section
• Top right: triangle symbol hidden behind a panel on the right side of the open section
• Bottom left: square symbol at base of statue near top of box
• Bottom right: pentagon symbol on the left side of the open section

Once all 4 symbols face the correct way, open the rectangular drawer and take the large cog and elastic band from inside. Go back down to the left side of the open panel and insert your large cog, then turn the crank handle again and take the small screwdriver from the panel that opens. Spin around to the right side of the open section and use the screwdriver to remove the 4 screws. Inside you will see some gears turning quickly; press the button on the right to stop them turning when there is a gap, and then take the folding key from inside. Back out, then zoom in on the irregularly shaped keyhole above the 4 gold panels from earlier. In your inventory, adjust the folding key to match the keyhole, then insert it and take the medium cog from inside the drawer.

Back out to the left side of the open section, and place your medium cog on the left of the 3 pegs. Move the bottom switch to the right, then turn the crank handle and take another medium cog. Back on the left side of the open section, retrieve the other medium cog, then place the two cogs on the two right pegs. Join them with your elastic band, then turn the crank handle. The view will change to the front of the clock; press the button near the top left, then take the narrow steel tube. In your inventory, pull the key out of the top of the steel tube, then take out the photograph; spin it around to see the words "Rev 6:05".

Go to the right side of the open section and use your small key. Remember the symbol shown here. Now use your lens, then drag the slider and turn the circle to recreate this symbol. Pick up the small silver shield. Go up to the top of the box and put the shield on the gold statue, then take the blue oval gemstone. Go back down and put this on the bottom of the clock face on the open section. Use your lens, then turn the hands on the clock until they show the time 6:05 Time Keeper.

Chapter 3

Use your lens and spin the box around until you see a fingerprint near the bottom. Slide the piece of metal to the side and pull down the latch, then take the puzzle book from the niche. Also read note 4/7 which is in the niche. Examine the puzzle box in your inventory. You need to drag the gold ball from the left to the right, taking it along paths created by spinning the central disk; once you are done, take the gold key from inside.

Zoom in on the wooden circle right of the globe. Drag the metal piece to the bottom right further away from the circle. Use your lens and spin the circle to move the left part of the latch down to the right, then spin the circle and slide the right part of the latch away as well - this reveals a square hole. Back out again. Next zoom in on the next segment to the right. Insert your key at the top left and turn it. Spin the dial on the right to the left 5 steps, right 9, left 14, then right all the way. Insert your photograph into the frame and take the square peg from beneath it. Use your lens, then look at the red eyepiece to see the word "SIGIL". Go back to the square hole in the wooden circle and insert your square peg. On the panel of 5 letters that appears, spell out the word "SIGIL". Pick up the blue crystal and read note 5/7.

Spin around the box until you see a small gold platform on the base; put your blue crystal there and a light will turn on above. Turn the wheel at the base of the light to the left until a compartment opens, then take the tiny flywheel. Back out, then spin around and find a round hole in the base marked with an X. Insert the flywheel here, then pull open the drawer. Take the light reflector from inside, then press the small panel in the floor of the drawer and take the hexagonal map piece from the smaller compartment that opens. Return to the top of the blue light and insert your light reflector just to the right - you will end up seeing a small display with 2 pentagon buttons. Press the right button, then quickly back out, spin around the box to the right and press the other two buttons at the same height, then keep spinning and take a star-shaped map piece. Go back to the first display. This time press the left button, then quickly back out, spin around the box to the left and press the other two buttons at the same height, then keep spinning and take a brass folding key.

Spin the box around to find the folding keyhole panel and adjust the folding key in your inventory so you can use it. Take another small reflecting device. Go back to the blue light and use your new reflecting device. Use your lens and move the sliderrs in the open section to reflect the light out the other side, then take the oddly-shaped map piece. Insert your 3 map pieces on the globe and take the handle from the top right niche. Spin around to find a gold disc and insert the handle in the top right, then turn it. Use your lens to show the inside of this segment, where you must spin the bottom disc and turn to the side to recreate the same symbol as previously. Take the wooden box, then examine it in your inventory. Turn the cross symbol on the bottom of the box to unfold the top part, then use this on the space above the folding keyhole panel. Look through the telescope and remember the star pattern. Go down to the small square panel of stars and click on the stars matching the pattern you just saw. Take the square map piece and read note 6/7. Insert the final map piece into the globe, then pull down the handle that appears Stargazer.

Chapter 4

Slide the green gem near the edge of the table to the far right, then take the brass handle and read note 7/7. Spin just to the left and press the rectangular panel to open it, then insert the handle and turn it until more sections open. Press the button on the left of the small star panel to show a star pattern in the shape of a dagger. Spin around to the wooden panel and look at it through your lens, then zoom in. Spin the panel and your view to see the same symbol as previously. Take the dagger and insert it in the middle of the main platform.

Go back to the wooden panel and examine it through your lens to see a combination near the top right. Now head to the grid of buttons and highlight the same pattern before pressing the rectangular button at the bottom; the sun and planets will start rotating. On the small star panel, press the button again to show a star pattern in the shape of an eye. Go back to the wooden panel and examine it through your lens to see another combination near the bottom left. Go back to the grid of buttons and highlight this second pattern, then press the rectangular button at the bottom; the sun and planets will stop rotating again. Look through the wooden panel with your lens and zoom in, then spin to see the same symbol again. Now take the amulet.

Insert the amulet in its slot, then look through your lens to see some arrows on the main top surface. Spin the amulet to line up some of the arrows, then go and look through the wooden panel (which is now clear). Spin the amulet again to show a different part of the display, and you will eventually work out the entire pattern. Go and highlight this pattern on the grid of buttons again, then press the rectangular button at the bottom. Pick up the energy source. Press the button on the small star panel once more. Go and look through the wooden panel using your lens. Spin the smaller box around until you find the symbol on the bottom layer, then zoom in and spin the higher layers to line up the symbols. Drag the energy source on to the platform High Priest.

Epilogue

Read the final note on the table here, and look at the notebook, then use your lens to see a handprint. Spin this around to complete it properly, then stop using the lens and slide the catch on the side of the platform that rises up. Pick up the small gear. Back out and find a small gold switch on the side of the table just left of the notebook. Slide this down, then place your small gear on the triangle and press the button just to the right. To solve the next puzzle, slide the orb along the paths to light up all the circles, then slide next to each of the triangular clips. When the switch at the top left is revealed, flip it down.

Take the large blue metal orb and examine it in your inventory. Look at the top and drag the inner pattern around until a circle settles on top. Press the circle, then pull open the top of the sphere and take another small gear from inside. Go back to where you inserted the other gear, and place your new one on the square, then press the button just to the right. Pull open the drawer and take the strangely shaped key.

Insert the key into the black box on the table. Turn it to the bottom left, then pan around and pick up the metal plate. Go back and turn the key to the bottom right and flip the switch that appears. Turn the key to the bottom left again, then pan around and pick up another key. Spin further around the box and insert your new key in the large gold panel, then turn it.

Turn the strangely shaped key to the middle position, then go back to the other key and note the two symbols displayed on the left and right. Turn the strangely shaped key to the bottom left, then go to the other key and scroll the symbol until it shows the previous left symbol. Turn the strangely shaped key to the bottom right, then go to the other key and scroll the symbol until it shows the previous right symbol. Turn the strangely shaped key to the middle position once more, then go back and press the two new buttons. Use your lens and tilt your view of the glowing rods, then pull the sliders at their ends to show the number sequence 573. Go and enter this on the combination lock and a large panel will slide out.

Scroll around the side of the table until you see a series of 12 gold symbols. Slide down a large catch just to the right and 3 overlying frames will appear. Scroll around to the opposite side of the table to see the 3 symbols you need to select, then come back and drag the frames over the appropriate symbols. Take the coin from the small drawer that opens. Next scroll around the side of the table and place your metal plate on a gold octagon, then turn it to reveal a small piano keyboard. Press the 2 keys on the piano indicated by the note at the start of the epilogue, then insert your coin in the coin slot. Copy 3 musical sequences successfully, then pick up 2 metal handles from a secret compartment in the piano.

Go back to the large panel that slide out earlier, and insert your 2 metal handles in the back corners. Use your lens and you will see a cube rotating when you turn the handles. Your goal is to slide the outer tiles into available sockets on the other side of the panel, by first moving open sockets into the appropriate positions using the handles. Once you have successfully slid all 4 tiles, take the red gem in a plate that appears. Back out and find a new sliding tile puzzle with 3 colored gems. You need to slide each of the tiles with gems to the bottom corner of the puzzle, then take the gems from the back surface of the puzzle. Once you have all 4 gems, place them in the circular device on the flat surface of the table (yellow at bottom left, green at top right, blue at bottom right). Look through the circular window towards these gems and use your lens, then tilt the view until you see a symbol matching the one at the top left.

Open the top of the large box and drag the blue disc to the middle of the maze, helping progress by pressing the button in the middle to rotate the individual circular portions of the maze. After the blue light appears, use your lens, then rotate your view until the symbol in the light matches a symbol in the background. Solve the maze a second time and again line up the symbol in the blue light with one in the background - you need to rotate the central disc to adjust the symbol this time Protege.
