The Last Door is a horror-themed point and click adventure set in Victorian England. You take the role of Jeremiah Devitt; after receiving a letter from your old friend you travel to an old abandoned manor and start to dredge up memories from your past. There are 16 Steam Achievements, all documented in the walkthrough below. The series continues with The Last Door Season 2.

Episode 1: The Letter

Prologue

Use the rope, then the chair. Use the rafters above you, then use the chair 3 times.

Beechworth Manor

Head inside to the foyer and read the note (1/39) from the table on the left. Continue right into the parlor. Pick up the matches from the shelves, then open the closed door and go through to the downstairs hallway. Move the crooked painting 3 times to find a rosary. Go through the far left door into the kitchen, and pick up the old cloth from the stove. Unlatch the door on the right (this leads out to the backyard).

Return to the hallway, then go through the second door from the right into the servant's quarters. Read the note (2/39) from the bedside table, and take the lamp from on top of the drawers.

Go all the way back to the foyer, then head upstairs to the left. Use your matches on your lamp so you can see in this dark area. Try the first door, but it is locked. The second door is boarded up. Go through the third doorway into the guest bedroom and take the silver key from the nightstand. Return to the downstairs hallway and use the silver key on the far right door, then go through to the basement. Pick up the record and the crowbar.

Return to the upstairs hallway and use the crowbar on the boarded door, then go through to the master bedroom. Read 3 notes (5/39) from the floor, then examine the corpse on the bed. Read the note (6/39) on the bed, then pick up the hair pin from the ground.

Leave this room and go through the doorway on the left into the guest bedroom again. Use your hairpin on the balcony door, then go through to reach a workshop. Read the note (7/39) on the desk, and another note (8/39) on the opposite table. Pick up a can of paint thinner and a hammer, then use the can on your old cloth to get a wet cloth. Open the door on the right, then go through to return to the upstairs hallway.

Return to the master bedroom, then go through the passage on the left into the gallery. Use your wet cloth on the painting to the far left Art Restoration.

Return downstairs and right into the parlor. Use your record on the gramophone here. Leave the parlor and walk around until the music stops, then return to the parlor once more. Go through to the downstairs hall, left into the kitchen, then out to the backyard. Pick up the crow, and use your hammer on it Better Served Silent.

Return inside, to the downstairs hall, and into the servant's quarters again. Put the crow in the bowl next to the window, then use the rosary on the window. Leave here and walk in and out of the downstairs hall until you hear a wail coming from the basement. Go to the basement and use the hammer on the left wall. Pick up the knife from the chest.

Return upstairs to the guest bedroom and out through the balcony door to the workshop. Use the knife on the stuffed lynx to get a golden key. Use this on the trapdoor in the ceiling, then you will climb up to the attic. Examine the body here and read the note (9/39) Don't Leave me Hanging.

Episode 2: Memories

Prologue

Use the clothes stand on the right, then the whip on the table in the middle of the room. Use the altar to the far left, then click on the character 3 times. Keep walking right, and you will automatically talk to the psychiatrist.

The Boarding School

Open the mailbox to the right and take the postcard. Head left and pick up the stone ornament from near the angel statue, then head into the school. Talk to the reverend mother and say "I prefer not to talk about it". Now talk to her about everything else. Head through the left passage into the hospital ward. Talk to the man and woman near the entrance, then give the postcard to the man. Examine the baggage next to the woman. Pick up the letters from inside, then give these to the man in exchange for a coin.

Head to the far right to find 2 doors, then unlock the left one and go through to the back yard. Talk to the gravedigger, then return inside. Now go through the right door to find a classroom. Read 2 notes (11/39), then wait here until you hear a strange noise (1/8) Explorer of the Occult. Take the music box from the shelves on the right, then return through the hospital ward to the entrance hall.

Go upstairs and through the first door into a bedroom. Speak to the nun here, saying "Lord works in mysterious ways". Go back downstairs, through the front door, then left to the back yard. Go to the far left and down to the beach. If you were fast enough, you will be able to talk to the nun (2/8). Go right, then return left. Examine the clothes on the beach here The Departed. Pick up the net and the log.

Return inside and upstairs, going back to the bedroom. Look out through the window, and clear the leaves from the pipe just beneath it. Use the stone ornament on the pipe, then attach your net to the pipe. Go back to the upstairs hallway and through the door on the far right into a bathroom.

Examine the broken mirror on the right and you will take a piece of it. Use the tap in the bottom right shower to flush the shiny object down the drain. Leave the bathroom and return to the bedroom, then look out the window. Examine the net and you will find a teardrop. Head back downstairs and left into the hospital ward. Use the teardrop on the statue of Mary to the far right (near the door to the back yard), then use your mirror on the teardrop and the nun will leave. Speak to the patient closest to the statue, saying "I will, however difficult this would be for me".

Go back upstairs into the bedroom and pick up the morphine from the chest of drawers. Go back to the hospital ward and look at the last bed on the right to see that the patient has left. Read the note (12/39) on the bed, then head out to the back yard. You will hear a knocking sound coming from the coffin - try to open it. Go around to the front yard and examine the toolbox, then talk to the gravedigger. While he is distracted, search the toolbox to get a tool. Return to the back yard and use the tool on the coffin.

Make your way back to the entrance hall and read the note (13/39) on the desk. Also pick up the key from the desk and use it on the door to the right, then go through.

In the dream sequence, speak to the people and keep heading to the left. After you return to the corridor, go left and enter the room again. Examine the altar, the depiction of Jesus, and the priest, then speak to him until you leave again. Enter the room a third time. Search the cupboard to get a razor, and read the note (14/39) on the floor. Combine the razor with your log to create a cutting tool. Head back to the upstairs hallway and use the cutting tool on the largest tapestry to the right. Go through the opening and watch the scene.

Head right and use the bunk bed to sleep. In this dream sequence, just keep going forward and reading the 11 notes (25/39).

After you wake up, go back downstairs and through the hospital ward into the classroom. Examine the rug on the floor here until you climb down into the basement. the classroom and examine the rug. Go downstairs and use the morphine on the patient just to the left Merciful. Now go through the door to the right A Secret from the Past.

Episode 3: The Four Witnesses

Prologue

Click anywhere several times to break out of your confinement. In the forest dream sequence, keep heading right until you wake up again. Now go left and then right into a courtyard. Continue right to a busy street, then through an archway to the far right into a small alley. Use the water dripping from the gutter and walk right until you pass out. When you awaken, return to the courtyard and look at the red eye (3/8) painted on the wall. Go right to the street, then go along an alley that was previously blocked.

London Streets

From the intersection, go to the upper left, then through the door into a butcher's shop. There are 4 levers on the right wall. If they are numbered 1-4 from left to right, use the levers in this order: 2, 1, 4. Go through the opening that is revealed. Pick up the bottle of gin, then head back to the intersection.

Head up the stairs to the left to find a Fortune Teller. Speak to the woman, saying "I haven't a penny to pay you". Pick any two cards, then exit to the main menu. Replay this until you have seen all five different cards Full Deck. Now pick 3 cards to end the sequence. Pick up the empty lamp, then head right. Go through the sewer grate below where you see the man leaving.

Walk towards the man again, then head through the broken grate towards the sewers. Use your gin bottle to collect some oily water from beneath the second pipe. Return to the butcher's shop and through the hole again. Use your oily water on the glass essencier, then use your empty lamp on it to fill it with oil. Go back to the fortune teller and use your lamp on the embers of her fire to light it.

Head right again, and this time take the upper path to the right to follow the man. Go inside after him, then quickly go right and through the next door. If you were fast enough, you will see a man turn into crows (4/8). Go back inside to the left. Over on the left, search the coat on the rack and take the gloves from inside. Next head up the stairs.

Open the first door to the left and go inside to find a bedroom. Talk to the woman on the right - when the game starts, go to the place just right of the fireplace. After the game is over, read the note (26/39) on the bed. Pick up the mask from the floor. Look at the embers in the fireplace, then use your gloves on them to get a doorknob. Leave this room.

Continue left past the ladder and use the doorknob on the next door, then go inside to find a bathroom. Pull back the curtain, then take the wig from the mannequin. Now use the gramophone repeatedly until you hear a strange message (5/8). Leave the bathroom, then go through the door to the far left.

Talk to the man playing violin, then take the score from the table. Return to the hallway, then go right and climb up the ladder to the attic. Examine the piano until you end up with a small key. Examine the cage on the right, then use the score on it to get a feather. Climb back down the ladder.

Go through the door to the right and use the small key on the wardrobe, then take out the dress. Leave this room and go downstairs to the right. Continue right to head outside again. Look at the large tree trunk here. Use the feather with this to collect some resin, then use the resin on the mask to fix it. Return inside to the left and go upstairs again. Go through the door to the far left and examine the mannequin near the window. Use the fixed mask, dress and wig on the mannequin, then you will receive a violin and a black key - talk to the man again to hear about the Simurg.

Go back downstairs and out to the right once more. Go right until you reach a black gate, then open it with your black key and go through. Examine the broken sarcophagus, then look at the hole on the right and continue through it.

Open the gate to the right (this leads back to the sewer entrance). Don't go through here - instead try to open the door to the bookshop. Try to leave through the hole on the left, but you will hear something. Go back and try to open the bookshop door twice, then head inside.

Read the note (27/39) on the bench, then head through the doorway on the right. Talk to the man on the sofa about everything. Now search the bookshelves just to the left to find all of the following books (6/8):

  • The Horla, by Guy de Maupassant
  • The Great God Pan, by Arthur Machen
  • The Silver Key, by Howard Phillips Lovecraft
  • The Approach to Al-Mu'tasim, by Jorge Luis Borges
  • The Black Cat, by Edgar Allan Poe

Exit to the left to find a backroom. Walk left and read the note (28/39) on the floor, then go down the stairs into the basement. Continue through an opening to the left. Walk just to the right to read another note (29/39) on the floor. Go right until you see some large green roots with a hole. Use your violin here. Now head all the way to the left to return to the sewers.

Make your way back to the starting intersection. Pick up and read the note (30/39), which will guide you through the next area. Follow the mysterious man right twice and you will end up in dense fog. Keep walking until you hear the following sounds, then click on the background to enter the next screen:

  1. Wind
  2. Birds
  3. Sea
  4. Silence

You will get an achievement if you choose the correct path on your first attempt The Short Path. Walk to the right and follow the man once more. Give him your ticket, then enter the theater. Walk right and approach the stage, selecting any option when talking to Alexandre. Take the mask The Truth Behind the Curtain.

Episode 4: Ancient Shadows

Prologue

Click on the man in the chair, then the desk, then the man again. Complete the conversation.

Alexandre's Estate

Head left until you reach the front yard. Unlatch the door on the right, then go through into a greenhouse. Wait here until you hear some glass shatter (7/8), then head back outside. Continue left and knock on the door, then open it and enter the house. Go up through the large archway into the parlor, then open the next door and go through to the kitchen. Pick up the oil lamp from the stove. Return to the left and read the note (31/39). Open the door on the right and go out to the back yard.

Take the rope from the well on the left. Back to the right, open the gate and go through to return to the front yard. Head inside to the lobby again, then head upstairs. Go through the double doors into Alexandre's room. Try speaking to Alexandre, then read the note (32/39) on the bed to the left. Go back out to the upstairs hallway.

Head through the archway to the right and open the large chest. Take out the hook and you will automatically read another note (33/39). Combine your rope and hook, then go through the narrow doorway just to the right into a darkroom. Pick up a bottle of cyanide from the wooden bench, and read the next note (34/39) on the floor. Examine the hanging lamp and take out the light bulb (you will then start using your oil lantern). Leave the darkroom, then head right into the study. Look at the invoice on the desk, and also read the note (35/39) next to it. Search the fireplace and take out the envelope.

Go back downstairs, then head out to the front yard, and continue right into the greenhouse. Go to the right and pick up the jar of vitriol from between the angel statues. Return outside, then head up along the path where you first arrived. Walk right until you find the corpse of a deer. Use your light bulb on the corpse to turn it red.

Return left to the front yard, then go through the gate to reach the back yard. Use your combined rope and hook on the well to get a brass bird. Go back inside and upstairs, then through the narrow doorway into the darkroom. Use your red light bulb on the hanging lamp to turn the room red. Put the envelope in the basin. Now add the vitriol, then the cyanide. Finally use the tap to rinse the photo. There is an achievement for doing this in the correct order on your first attempt Alchemist.

Go back to Alexandre and show him the photo, then pick up the clock hand that he drops. Put the brass bird into the cuckoo clock on the wall. Head downstairs and look at the grandfather clock. Add the clock hand to the grandfather clock, then examine it again. Set the time to 3:00, then flip the lever on the right - you will hear the sound of the cuckoo clock from upstairs. Go upstairs and into Alexandre's room again. Pick up the bird from the floor and examine it to find a key.

Head downstairs and out to the back yard. Use the key to open the cellar doors, then go down. Examine the furniture several times to get a small shovel. Climb back up to the back yard. Go left and use the shovel to dig up the grave. Examine the crate. Use your vitriol on the padlock. Inside, read the note (36/39), then take the rolled up canvas.

Go back up to Alexandre's room (you will hear a scream along the way). Once you get there, read the note (37/39) in his chair. Wait in this room until you see a crow (8/8) Master of the Occult. Go out to the balcony and examine the statue, then take the crystal.

Return down to the cellar. Head left into a workshop and read the note (38/39) on the bench on the left. Head through a partially obscured opening towards the right of the room to find a cave. Read the final note (39/39) on the ground. Examine the angled desk and set the 3 symbols as follows (you can find these by using the crystal in the telescope and using the information from the canvas, but will miss out on an achievement):

  • Top Left: Two angled lines with a vertical line through the middle
  • Top Right: Horseshoe symbol
  • Bottom: Letter H with a vertical line through the middle

When the desk opens, take out a syringe. Still holding the crystal, leave to the left The Angels Protect this House. Enter the cave again, and climb down the hole. Give the syringe to Alexandre, then sit in the chair. Give Alexandre the syringe again. After the scene, walk to the right The Veil.

When you return to the main menu, you will get an achievement if you read all 39 notes The Whole Story.

Extras

From the main menu of the game, select Extras to find 4 short adventures.

The Morgue

Pull back the sheet and examine the body. Get the tools from the top table, then use the left table. Now use the scalpel on the body twice, then use the pincer on the body.

Death Sentence

Just watch the scenes.

Wanderer in the Fog

Talk to the woman on the bed, saying "I believe your story" at the end.

Beechworth's Wake

Look at the dead man. Talk to the seated person, then the person on the far right. Now speak to the other men.
