Gimbel's Maze
After the introduction, start moving Thomas and Lily along the path, being carefully not to stray off, or you will turn to stone. You will notice that the path branches. Examine your book and you will see some letters are highlighted, indicating the correct path to take through the maze: right, right, right, left, right, right, left. After a short while a mist will start following you, but if you keep moving at a reasonable pace it won't be able to catch up.
The Gate of Lamia
Find and follow the first path to reach a large symbol of a face in the ground. Examine your book and you will see a series of 7 symbols in order. Wander around the rest of the environment and you will see these 7 symbols, along with a picture of the face with 2 segments shaded differently. You need to remember which segments of the face are highlighted for each of the 7 symbols in order:
- Left eye, right eye
- Left side of neck, right side of neck
- Left top segment, right forehead
- Left below ear, right cheek
- Beard, right below ear
- Left forehead, right above ear
- Left ear, right ear
Come back to the face and get Thomas and Lily to stand on these pairs of segments in order; each time they will light up in green. You need to quickly go from one pattern to the next, and if you make it all the way to the 7th pattern they will flash quickly and you will see a small triangular path open. Go through to reach a new area. Walk along the stone path past some large portraits.
Machine Island of Helona
Follow the path and climb up to the top of the robot until you make your way to a screen which prompts you for a password. Examine your book to see the number 213233 - enter this as the password, and you will then be prompted for a command. Examine your book again and you will see groups of letters in the corners of the picture. To understand the machines' code, you need to use the number 1 for letters that are only contained in 1 circle, the number 2 for letters that are in 2 overlapping circles, and the number 3 for letters at the intersection of 3 circles. In addition, the name "Imah" in the story is encoded as "2213" in the building in the picture. Using all of this information, you can enter the phrase "Right Arm" by typing 32232132. You will now see a message about insufficient power.
Climb back down the robot until you see a large wheel that you can walk on to. Get on the wheel and start jumping (just up and down, not forward) to make the wheel turn. Gradually increase your speed until the blue lights increase to maximum, and the robot's arm will lift up. Head along the new path that is revealed.
