The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time is the second in a series of games set primarily in the future, after development of the Pegasus time travel machine. This game continues after The Journeyman Project. Your future self warns you that you have been framed for altering the past. You must travel through time to track down who is really responsible. This walkthrough is based on the "Adventure" mode of the game, which includes more puzzles. The series continues with The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time.

Gage's Apartment

Start by accessing your Files Biochip. Read everything about the jumpsuit, and all TSA agent dossiers, profiles and missions for research points (3/15). Head forward and left, then examine the Agent 5 figurine. Activate the figurine to listen to the message you left for yourself.

Back out, then head right, forward 4 times, right and down. Examine the desk. Read all of the papers on the left side of the desk. Put the papers back, then use the answering machine on the right and listen to all of the messages. Back away from the desk again.

Now go up, right, forward, left, forward twice, left and down. Wait for the door to dissolve, then continue forward, right, forward, right and down. Pick up the remote control from the left seat and drag it to your inventory. Next head up, left, forward, left and down. Click on the projector, then examine it more closely. Press the right button to see the Interactive News Network (INN). View all 4 stories in their entirety, including clicking on all of the hyperlinks within them, for research points (7/15).

Back out of the projector, then go forward, right, forward twice and right. Wait for the door to dissolve again, then continue forward, right, forward 3 times, left and forward. You are now in front of your Universal Domestic Replicator. Press the Power button, then the Menu button. Select ShopNet, then enter the following codes that you may have noticed from using the INN:

  • 625-94-978 (Cheese Girl)
  • 689-22-378 (Translator Biochip)

Once you have ordered both items, select Post Box and click on an item, then pick it up. Look up and repeat this process with the second item. You will earn a puzzle point (1/20).

Now access your Jump Biochip. From the Jump menu, select Farnstein Lab. View the mission briefing, then jump.

Farnstein Lab

Quickly use your Cheese Girl towards the left side of the view window, and you will be propelled against the side of the space station, to earn a puzzle point (2/20).

From here, go down and left, then forward 5 times. Open the Capacitance Array hatch here. Go forward twice and try to open the Docking Bay hatch, but the pressure must first be equalized. Head left, up and forward. Examine the screen here and click on the Capacitance Array twice (one of the blue sections to the right), but you cannot equalize the pressure here.

Back out, then go up, right, forward, right twice and forward. Pick up the metal bar in the hatchway here. Return to the control screen by going right twice, forward, left, up and forward. Touch the screen and click on the Capacitance Array twice to pressurize it.

Back out again, then continue up, right and forward, and open the Docking Bay hatch. Go forward into the Docking Bay. To get through the maze ahead, you need to go right, forward, right, forward, left, forward, left 3 times, forward, right twice, forward, left, forward, right and forward. Open the Sensors hatch and go through.

Once Arthur invites you, continue forward. Answer both of his questions with Yes. Turn right twice to see the AI Nexus hatch. Look up and examine the keypad, then enter the code provided by Arthur (32770). Pull the handle here, then open the AI Nexus hatch to get back inside.

Now you need to solve a small puzzle, where you must exchange the positions of the red and green lights. Click on them in this order:

  1. Bottom red
  2. Top green, middle green
  3. Bottom red, middle red, top red
  4. Top green, middle green, bottom green
  5. Bottom red, middle red, top red
  6. Middle green, bottom green
  7. Top red

You will now receive a copy of Arthur on your spare Biochip, as well as a puzzle point (3/20). There is nothing else you can do now, so use the Jump Biochip to recall yourself.

Gage's Apartment

From where you appear, go forward 4 times, left, forward, left and forward. Use the Universal Domestic Replicator to create another Cheese Girl (order 625-94-978). Use the Jump Biochip to jump to Farnstein Lab again.

Farnstein Lab

Quickly use your new Cheese Girl on the left again to reach the outside of the space station. From here, go right, down and forward to the Atmosphere Mining hatch. Touch the hatch, and Arthur will get it open for you. Go forward, then press the green Engage button.

After the elevator ride concludes, head right twice and down, then open the elevator hatch. Continue forward, then press the up arrow on the tram controls to drive forward.

Go right and examine the control panel here. Select Run Mining Cycle. After the process concludes, go left and down to return to the control panel. Examine it again, then select Run O2 Extraction. Back out, then turn right twice twice to face the recharge station. Examine this and use the nozzle on the right to replenish your oxygen.

Back out and turn right 3 times, then press the up arrow on the tram controls again. Turn right twice and go forward to enter the elevator. Press the green Engage button.

After this elevator ride, go down and right, then grab the empty water canister from the wall ahead. Turn right and touch the hatch to open it. Continue forward twice, left and up. Examine the screen here and click on Biomass (left orange section) twice to pressurize it. Back out, then go right, down, right and down. Open the Biomass hatch and you will automatically go forward.

Head forward 3 times and left. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate. Now click on the central green part of the sculpture - you cannot record the evidence with the sculpture in its current state. Go down and examine the harmonic resonator on the left. Press the green button to test the current frequency, but it will give a negative response. Change the frequency using the dial above, and keep pressing the green button until you get a positive response (at 11kHz). This will give you a research point (8/15).

Back out and go up to see the sculpture again. Use your Evidence Biochip and click on the middle of the sculpture to get a puzzle point (4/20). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a critical evidence point (1/4).

While you are still here, go left, forward, down and forward. Touch the hatch to open it and return to the corridor. Continue left and forward, then touch the next hatch and go forward. Press the green Engage button. After the elevator ride, go right twice and down, then touch another hatch. Go forward and press the down button on the tram controls. Go right 3 times to be back at the recharge station. Examine it, then use your empty water canister with the blue nozzle. Turn the yellow valve to fill the canister, then pick it up again.

From the Jump menu of your Jump Biochip, select Chateau Gaillard. View the mission briefing, then jump.

Chateau Gaillard

Go forward and down, then take the bloody arrow from the dead guard. Now head up, right twice, forward 4 times, down and forward to climb downstairs. Continue up, left, forward and right. Open the door and keep going forward, right, forward twice, left, forward, right and down. Pick up the grappling hook. Return up, right, forward, right, forward twice and right, then go forward 4 times and left.

Wait here until a boulder crashes through the wall, then continue forward, right, down and forward to get down to the ground and receive a puzzle point (5/20). Head right and forward to reach the Smithy's door. Open the door, then go forward, right and down. Pick up the hammer here.

From the Jump menu of your Jump Biochip, select Da Vinci Studio. View the mission briefing, then jump.

Da Vinci Studio

Head left twice and down, then touch the balcony key to unlock the door (and obtain the key). Look up and open the door, then go forward. You will automatically record evidence of a silhouette in the other tower and get a research point (9/15) and a supporting evidence point (1/7).

Go right twice and open the door, then go forward, right, forward, left and forward. Use your Translate Biochip and activate it, then hover over the Latin writing here to get English translation. Flip the left lever down ("unlock") and then the right lever up ("up"). Look down and turn the winch.

Now head up, right twice, forward, right, forward, right, forward, right and forward. Now go left twice and down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate. Now click on the small red smudge (footprint) to get a supporting evidence point (2/7). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a research point (10/15).

From here, go up, forward twice, left twice, forward, down and right to get into the elevator. Turn the wheel to get down to the ground. At the bottom, go up and right, then open the door and go forward. Continue forward, right, forward twice, right and down. Pick up the coil of rope from here. Return up, right, forward twice, right and forward. Open the workshop door here and go forward to head inside.

Now head forward, left, forward, left, forward 3 times and right. Pick up the wheel assembly. Examine the drawing beneath it, and use your Translate Biochip to read the writing. Back out, then go down and left. Pick up the wooden pegs from the floor. Continue left, up, left, forward 4 times, left, forward, right, forward and right. Pick up the drive assembly. Next head right, forward, left, forward, right, forward 4 times, left and down. Attach your wheel assembly to the right of the jig, your drive assembly to the left of the jig, and your wooden pegs to the right of the jig. Now use your hammer on the pegs, so you can pick up the completed siege cycle, rewarding you with a puzzle point (6/20).

Proceed up, left, forward twice, left and forward twice. Use your Translate Biochip to read the sign here. Back out and look down, then examine the diagram on the desk. Continue up, left, forward, right, forward, left and forward. Open the door here and go forward again to return outside.

Next go right, forward, left, forward, right twice, forward twice, left, forward, left, forward, right twice and down. Turn the handle at the base of the catapult (just once). Now go up, left and forward so you are at the catapult controls. From the starting position, use the left wheel to turn the catapult 9 times to the right, and use the right wheel to aim the catapult down twice. Pull the lever in the middle to launch the grappling hook, and you will automatically get off the catapult. Head left, forward and left. Put your siege cycle on the cables, then move forward to board the cycle, and forward again to ride up the cables, gaining a puzzle point (7/20).

Head forward twice and left, then look down and use the balcony key to unlock the door. Look up and open the door, then go forward into the tower. Head right and down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate, then click on the lens filter on the floor to get a supporting evidence point (3/7). Pick up the lens filter and click on it in your inventory - this attaches it to your jumpsuit and gives you a research point (11/15).

Go up, forward, right and down. Open the book in the middle of the desk; if you have the lens filter active you will see writing inside and get a puzzle point (8/20). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a critical evidence point (2/4). Click on the lens filter again in your inventory to remove it from your jumpsuit.

While you are still here, back out, then go up, right, forward, right, forward twice and left. Open the cabinet and take the preserved heart.

From the Jump menu of your Jump Biochip, select Chichen Itza. View the mission briefing, then jump.

Chichen Itza

From the starting position, head right, forward, left and forward. Use your Translate Biochip to read the inscriptions at the tops of the walls here:

  • "The Chac Mool grants entrance to the Underworld only on Sacred Days."
  • "The Holy Vessel contains the breath of Itzamna. To touch the Holy Vessel is to become a vessel of the word of Itzamna."
  • "Homage must be paid to four Lords of the Night before the layman is allowed to touch the Holy Vessel of ordainment."

There are also a list of numbers and items associated with Gods and Goddesses. Turn back to the 2 dials you saw when you entered. With the aid of the Translate Biochip, turn the dials to display any of these combinations:

  • 1 Flint
  • 3 Tree
  • 4 Rabbit
  • 7 Mountain
  • 7 Obsidian
  • 8 Water
  • 9 Dog
  • 11 Jaguar
  • 12 Lightning

Back out, then go left and down and pick up the ceramic bowl. Continue up, left, forward and down, then place the ceramic bowl on the statue. This will give you access to the Underworld, as well as a puzzle point (9/20). Look down and pick up the skull. Next go up, forward and down and pick up a copper medallion.

Use the Jump Biochip to jump to Chateau Gaillard again.

Chateau Gaillard

After the guard is shot again, head left twice, forward 3 times, down, forward, up, left, forward and right. Open the door, then go forward 5 times and left. Wait here until the boulder crashes through the wall, then continue forward, right, down and forward to get down to the ground. Head right and forward to reach the Smithy's door. Open the door, then go forward, left, forward, right, forward, right, forward and down.

Put the copper medallion in the pan. Move the wooden beam above it, and the copper will melt. Lift up the loose brick on the right, then touch the copper to pour it into a key mold. Now pick up the copper key, also getting a puzzle point (10/20). Return up, right twice, forward, left, forward, left, forward and right. Open the door, then continue forward 3 times, right, forward, left, forward, right and forward. Look left and down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate. Now click on the footprint at the water's edge to get a supporting evidence point (4/7). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a research point (12/15).

Next head right, forward and up, then save your game. Use your grappling hook on the window above. Go forward as soon as you can. Once you get inside, quickly use your Cloak Biochip and click Activate to avoid being seen. Wait until the guards leave the room, then deactivate the cloak. Head forward, right, forward and down. Examine the front of the cabinet to find a secret compartment. Back out, then go up, left twice and forward twice. Press the tapestry, and you will hear a mechanism activate.

Continue right twice, forward, left and forward twice to reach the stairs. Next head left, down, forward, up, left and forward. Open the study door, then go forward, right, forward twice, right and down. Pick up the burned letter from the fireplace and read it (use the Translate Biochip to help you). Back out, then go up, forward 3 times and down. Use the Translate Biochip to read both journals here. Back out, then go up, right forward twice and down. Examine the diagram here to get a hint about a hidden chamber. Now head up, right twice, forward, left and forward. Open the door, then continue forward twice, left, down, forward, up, left and forward to reach the cellar door. Open the cellar door to get another supporting evidence point (5/7).

Go forward, left, forward, left and down. Use your copper key on the chest. Go forward into the chest, and you will climb down to a hidden chamber, getting a puzzle point (11/20). Continue down and right. Open the chest here and take the gold coins from inside. Now go up, right twice and forward, then right and down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate, then click on the sword case and get a puzzle point (12/20). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a critical evidence point (3/4).

Use the Jump Biochip to jump to Chichen Itza again.

Chichen Itza

Head right, forward, left and forward. Examine the dials and set them to one of the options listed earlier. Back out, then turn left and down and pick up the ceramic bowl. Continue up, left, forward and down, then place the ceramic bowl on the statue to return to the underworld.

Walk forward 5 times, right and forward to the Temple of the War God. Examine the right tiki and insert your bloody arrow - the door to the temple opens. Go forward, down and right, and pick up the another skull. Now turn up and right twice. Click on the serpent head, then put a skull in its mouth to keep it open. Turn right twice and repeat this with the other serpent head. Turn left twice. Click on the serpent head, quickly grab the skull, then go right and forward before the doors close (if you don't make it in time, just click on the left serpent head again, and quickly go through the doors).

Continue forward, then turn left. Click on the serpent head and put the skull in its mouth. Go right, forward and left, and pick up another skull. Continue left, forward and left. Click on the serpent head and insert your new skull. Turn right twice and get the skull from the serpent here, then go left, forward twice and right. Click on this serpent head and insert the skull. Go right, forward twice and right. Take the skull from here, then turn left twice, click on the serpent head and insert the skull. Now all doors should be open and all spears should be disabled. Turn right, then go forward 3 times and down. Pick up the obsidian block and get a puzzle point (13/20). Now head up, right twice and forward 5 times. Touch the door to open it, then go forward to leave the temple.

Continue forward 3 times to the Temple of the Water God. Examine the right tiki and insert your full water canister - the door to the temple opens. Go forward 5 times to the end of a segmented bridge. Turn right twice and go forward, then turn right twice again to see the segments of the bridge are now moving. Save your game. Now time your movements forward to step onto each segment when it gets close enough. Once you have crossed to the far side, go forward twice and down. Pick up the limestone block and get another puzzle point (14/20). Now head up, right twice and forward twice. Save your game. Make your way back over the segmented bridge. Go forward 3 more times. Touch the door to open it, then go forward to leave the temple.

Continue forward twice, left, forward, left and forward to the Temple of the Wealth God. Examine the right tiki and insert some gold coins. Go forward 3 times, right and down. Attach your coil of rope to the spare anchor point here. Head forward 3 times and down. Pick up the jade block and get a puzzle point (15/20). Now head up, left twice, forward twice, right, up, and forward 3 times. Touch the door to open it, then go forward to leave the temple.

Continue forward, left and forward to the Temple of the God of Death. Look down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate, then click on the glass fragments on the floor to get a supporting evidence point (6/7). Look up again, then examine the right tiki. Insert your obsidian, limestone and jade blocks - the door to the temple opens. Go forward 4 times and down. Use your Evidence Biochip and click Locate, then click on the synthetic blood to get the final supporting evidence point (7/7). Put your preserved heart into the blood, then save your game. Examine the coffer, and activate your Translate Biochip. Rotate the 4 dials until the message reads "The Breath Of Itzamna", then touch the right end of the coffer to open it, receiving a puzzle point (16/20). Click on the Review panel of the Evidence Biochip and review the evidence you just collected to get a critical evidence point (4/4). Make sure you take the environ cartridge from inside the coffer.

Since you have found all 4 pieces of critical evidence, use the Jump Biochip to recall yourself.

Gage's Apartment

Go left twice, forward, right, down, forward, right, forward twice, left and down. Click on the projector, then examine it more closely. Insert your environ cartridge into the middle of the projector. When you see the message "This cart encoded to play back in Klegmar radiation band", click on your lens filter to attach it to your jumpsuit. You will receive a research point (13/15), but will then be kidnapped.

Missile Silo

After Agent 3 reveals her plan, use your Interface Biochip and type the password GRAVBALL; you will get another puzzle point (17/20).

Head right twice, forward twice and down. Pick up the generator core. Continue up, left twice, forward and down, then examine the left side of the device. Press the button and take out the burned-out core, then insert your generator core to power up the room.

Now head up, right twice, forward twice, right and forward. Touch the front of the plasma tool, then use the controls to scroll to "Transport Code" and press the Run Program button - copy down the code (657255190235). Turn right and examine the yellow post-it note to get a research point (14/15). Examine the dark screen to see the INN, and view the story about Symbiotry Technology Discussions for the final research point (15/15). Make sure you click on the link to Appeal for Denial, then Krynn and find the transport prefix of 272.

Back out, then go right, forward, left, forward and right twice, then save your game. Touch the screen of the transporter, then enter the transport code you copied down earlier (657255190235). Now enter the alien prefix (272). Make sure you still have the lens filter active, then step forward to get the next puzzle point (18/20).

Krynn Embassy

Step forward out of the transporter, then continue forward, left, forward, right and forward. Save your game. Turn right, then quickly activate your Cloak Biochip. After the aliens go past, deactivate the Cloak Biochip. Touch the floor in front of you to move forward, then do this again to reach a storage room.

Go forward and click on the round pod in the middle of the room. Go right, forward and left. Examine the right pod here, and click on it to see a sword inside. Use your explosive charge on the pod, then take Richard I's sword. Back out, then go right, forward and left. Examine this pod, then use the sword on it, and take the Interactive Sculpture. Go right, forward and left. Examine both of these pods; using the sword so you can grab the Codex Atlanticus and the Mayan Puzzle Box. Go right, forward and left, then examine the pod. Examine the pod, then use the sword on it, and take the Environ Cartridge. You will get a puzzle point (19/20) for getting all of these objects.

Turn right twice, then go forward. Touch the right wall in front of you to move forward, then touch the floor to move forward again. Use the sword on the floor to seal off the corridor ahead (before another alien comes towards you). Now go left, forward and left. Save your game, then go forward. As soon as you regain control, drop your burned-out core inside your transporter. Quickly go forward, then press the pink button on the right of Icarus' transporter.

Now head right, forward and left twice. Press the pink button on the left to use the transporter and get the final puzzle point (20/20).
