Roxy
Stand up, then turn left to see your car submerged in the lake. Turn right and step forward to reach a lamp post, then turn right again and follow a narrow path up towards a large house. Go left past the front entrance of the house an you will find a white garage. Open the door and go inside, then take the crowbar hanging from a support beam. Head upstairs to find Roxy, who is unconscious.
Return downstairs and out of the garage, then turn left and approach the front porch of the house. Open the mailbox, then open the package inside and read the letter from Joe. Return the letter and take the oscillator. Back out from the mailbox, then open the front door and head inside the house.
Go forward to the stairs and climb up, turning left at the top. Go into the room straight ahead and you will find yourself facing a desk in an office. Turn to the right to see a spiral staircase, then flip the switch on the wall to the right - this will restore power to the house. Turn right and examine the computer desk. Pick up the videotape next to the mouse. Now head over to the desk in the middle of the room and open the top drawer. Read the BAR User's Manual thoroughly to learn some important settings (Level 6, Freq Mod 8).
Climb up the spiral staircase in this room and pick up the PeeK device from the small table on the balcony. Examine this and press the left button followed by the play button, noting the sound it makes.
Head back down both sets of stairs. Turn left from the front door and enter the parlor. Examine the device on the large table in this room, and insert your oscillator into the small slot in its base. Examine the PeeK unit in your inventory to note that the AMBER unit is now online.
Back out from the table and turn right, then enter the dining room. Go over to the side board on the far side of the room. Examine the video camera and open its side panel, then insert the videotape. Use the camera's eyepiece and press the play button to watch the video. This mentions another important setting (Gain 5).
Open the cupboard beneath the video camera and take the weed killer from inside. Make your way back out to the entrance hall and go straight across into the living room. Examine the BAR on the glass table to the right and set the controls to match what you have learned:
- Level: 6
- Gain: 5
- Freq Mod: 8
Flip the small switch to Run, then examine the PeeK unit in your inventory to see that the BT cameras in the house have been activated. You now have to wander around the house and grounds, waiting for your PeeK unit to flash so you can watch a series of 6 supernatural events, which may occur in a different order:
- Kitchen: Rattling doorknob
- Kitchen: Floating knife and swinging lights
- Dining Room: Moving forks and chairs
- Roxy's Bedroom: Light from TV becomes a key in a drawer
- 1943 Bedroom: Blood filling the room
- Living Room: Moving furniture
Head back to the living room and pick up the cordless telephone on the coffee table - listen to Roxy describe what has happened to her. Look at the PeeK unit to see that the headgear is activated. Go across to the parlor and pick up the AMBER headgear from the central table. Look at the Peek unit once more.
As you walk around the house, voices will get louder when you get near to their portals. Go upstairs and around to the right into Roxy's bedroom. Open the nightstand to the right of the bed and take out the key (the one from the event you saw earlier). Now leave this room and go out to the hall. Unlock the door to the left of the office with the key and enter the 1943 bedroom. Enter the glowing mirror.
Maggie
During this part of the game, don't open any extra doors or move around between the rooms unless indicated below, as this advances time. You can move between the rooms by tuning the radios in the rooms.
Tune the radio in the bedroom to 75 to head to the kitchen. Back out and press the U button to send the dumbwaiter to the bedroom. Now tune the radio here to 62 to return to the bedroom. Back out from the radio and click on the knitting needle to the left, so that it flips into the dumbwaiter. Tune the radio to 75 again to go to the kitchen, then press the D button to get the dumbwaiter to join you. Click on the knitting needle in the dumbwaiter and it will end up as a second antenna for the radio here.
Tune the radio to 65 to head to the dining room. Listen to the radio until it mentions the debut of a new station at 7:00pm. Tune the radio to 62 to return to the bedroom, then open the bedroom door - this will reset the time in the house to 4:00pm. When the display is filled with static, click on the white border and the view returns to normal.
Tune the radio in the bedroom to 75 to head to the kitchen again. Open the door just to the left of the radio to advance the time by 3 hours (so it should now be 7:00pm). Clear the static display again. Now tune the radio here to 130 to head to the office. Examine the wastebasket, then rearrange the pieces of the telegram. Label the positions as follows:
Click on the pieces in these positions to solve the puzzle: J, K, G, C, D, H, G, K, L, H, G, K, J, F, E, I, J, F, G, C, D, H, G, C, B, F, G, K, J, F, G, C, D, H, G, C, B, F, E, A, B, F, G, H, D, C, B. Click on the telegram.
Roxy
Look at the Peek unit, then stand up. Make your way back to the office and flip the switch on the wall to restore power to the house again. Go downstairs and exit the house. Go around to the back of the garage and use the weed killer on the brown path so that you can keep going until you find a gazebo. Climb up the steps and enter the gazebo. Look up and enter the light.
Brice
Exit the gazebo and head along the rocky path until you find a dark spot in the bushes. Go through this dark tunnel to reach another part of the garden. Follow the path around a curve here, where there are multiple beehives. You will eventually find a triangular dark spot in the ivy - head through this opening to find a paved area.
There are 4 plants around the corners of the building here - there is a mirror on the pots at the bottom of each plant. You must rotate these mirrors so they all face towards the building. Now enter the building and close the door behind you. Go over to the far wall and look through the right peephole near the floor to see a message write on 4 of 6 window panes (if you cannot read it, the mirrors are not correct).
Leave this building and head back to the beehives. Go over to a rectangular dark spot in the opposite ivy - head through this opening to find another area containing blue flowers. Follow the gray path here and examine a wooden bench, focusing on the carved heart symbol. You need to click on the nails to remove them from the heart. From the starting position, click on the bottom nail 2 times, then the left nail 5 times. This will reveal the code 321.
Back out from the bench and go through a side exit. Follow this path to reach another gazebo. Go around to the back left of the gazebo and press the red button, then climb the steps to head inside. Examine the floor grate here and enter the code 321, then climb down the ladder. Half way down, read the letter, then keep going down.
At the bottom of the ladder, look towards the white flag to the left of the locked door. Look down to see some red paint on the floor, then look back up and click on the flag to move it to the right rope. Now click on the right rope to dye the flag and raise it to the top of the gazebo. Open the panel over the door lock and press the 4 buttons corresponding to the message you saw through the peephole earlier:
Now open the door.
Roxy
Look at the Peek unit, then stand up. Make your way back to the office and flip the switch on the wall to restore power to the house again. Now head out to the boathouse near the lake where you started the game. Use your crowbar to remove the boards from the doors, then open the doors and head inside.
Edwin
Look up, then go forward and focus on Chippy, who is frozen in the lake. Back out, then turn around and enter the boathouse. Go across to the back wall and turn the crank clockwise twice. Turn towards the table and push the tackle to knock the bag of rock salt out the window. Return outside to where you saw Chippy, and you can now climb down through a hole in the ice.
Squeeze the rubber duck to summon a car. Get into the car and Chippy will join you. Clean the windshield, then drive forward 4 times to reach the castle.
Clean the windshield again, and you will be back where you started. This time turn right, then drive forward 3 times to reach an area filled with stalagmites. Turn right, then walk forward 9 times and look down to see your teddy. Look up twice to see an anchor above you. Turn back around and return to the middle of the stalagmites, then click on a bubble to float up to the surface.
Look around on the frozen lake until you find a small windmill. Move the lever just beneath the top of the stand and it will start spinning. Now find the boathouse again. Staying on the outside, climb up the back wall to reach the roof. Turn the weather vane so it points away from you (this adjusts the wind direction). Climb back down and go out to the boat on the frozen lake. Pull the rope on the boat to raise its sail - the boat will sail forward and its anchor will drop lower. Return to the roof of the boathouse and turn the weather vane to face you. Get on the boat again and pull the rope so the boat sails backward and its anchor will come back up.
Go back underwater through the hole where you first saw Chippy, then get into the car and clean the windshield. Turn left, then drive forward 3 times to get the teddy and reach the castle again.
Roxy
Look at the Peek unit, then stand up. Make your way back to the office and flip the switch on the wall - you will see a vision where a voice tells you that "all you need is wisdom".
Ending
Stand up again, and examine the computer to the right. Enter the password "wisdom". Select the options to remove constraints and apply positional bias, then press these buttons:
- Right alignment
- Left bias
- Right bias
- Right alignment
- Middle bias
- Left bias
Press the continue button. In the algorithm construction puzzle, press these buttons:
- Left down arrow (3 times)
- Middle up arrow
- Right down arrow (3 times)
Leave the house and enter the garage again. Go up the stairs to find Roxy, and zoom in on her face. Remove your AMBER headgear, then put it on Roxy's head.
