Escape: The Brother's Saloon is a first-person room escape game. You have been imprisoned inside an old-fashioned saloon by your brother, who has set a series of 26 puzzles to keep you trapped for your own safety. There are 10 Steam Achievements, all documented in the walkthrough below.

Main Puzzles

Globe

Read the note on the desk, and also examine the large journal. Take note of the places mentioned. Now cross the room and examine the large globe. Click on the markers on corresponding to London, Shanghai, Hawaii and Mexico Solved!.

Entrance Corridor

Leave the main room and head into the dark entrance corridor. You need to click on the lights in a specific order to get them all to stay on:

  1. 3rd light on the left wall
  2. 1st light on the right wall
  3. 1st light on the left wall
  4. 3rd light on the right wall
  5. Light just before reaching the corridor
  6. Flashing light on the right wall

Missing Ornaments

Collect a series of 7 ornaments from the entrance corridor and the main room:

  • Round white vase on entrance corridor side table
  • Brown bottle on entrance corridor side table
  • Floral vase on entrance corridor side table
  • Glass bottle on the desk
  • Brown vase on floor next to fireplace
  • Tall white vase on coffee table
  • Small clock at the top of the wooden cabinet with 9 drawers

Now find the large set of wooden shelves in the main room that is holding a matching set of 7 ornaments. Insert yours to create a symmetric pattern.

Grandfather Clock

Look at the photograph on the desk and note the time on the clock as well as the position of its weights. Take the clock weight from the bottom left drawer of the wooden cabinet with 9 drawers. Examine the grandfather clock and attach this weight. Set the weights according to the positions in the photograph, and set the time to 9:10 A secret room!.

Furnace Pipes

Take a pipe from the opened drawer in the grandfather clock, then enter the billiard room and pick up another 7 pipes from the floor in this room. Examine the pipes on the wall in here and attach the ones you have collected:

Missing Books

Collect a series of 10 books from the available rooms:

  • Red book next to the furnace in the billiard room
  • Red book on the large locked chest in the billiard room
  • Yellow book on a chair in the billiard room
  • Blue book on entrance corridor side table
  • Red book beneath entrance corridor side table
  • Red book on bench with globe
  • Blue book on desk
  • Green book on coffee table
  • Purple book on sofa
  • Red book on floor next to bookshelf

Now examine the bookshelf and insert your books to create the following patterns (there is a hint in a note on the billiard table):

  • Top shelf: red, purple, green, yellow, green, purple, red
  • Middle shelf: red, brown, red, red, brown, red, red, red, brown
  • Bottom shelf: blue, yellow, blue, yellow, blue, yellow

Fireplace Figurines

Collect a series of 4 animal figurines from the available rooms:

  • Boar figurine in a secret compartment in the bookshelf
  • Bear figurine on entrance corridor side table
  • Wolf figurine on small round table in the billiard room
  • Alligator on small side table in the billiard room

Read the journal on the chair in the billiard room, and piece together the order of the 6 animals. Now go out to the fireplace and add the figurines to the existing ones so they are in this order: deer, bear, boar, wolf, alligator, moose Another secret room?!.

Sliding Tiles

Pick up the sliding tile from beneath the small round corner table in the bar room. Take this back to the billiard room. Solve the sliding puzzle on the wall here, and insert the final piece The Bird.

Chess Game

Collect a series of 6 chess pieces from the available rooms:

  • Black queen (BQ) on entrance corridor side table
  • White bishop (WB) in billiard triangle in entrance door
  • White bishop (WB) in the bottom right drawer of the wooden cabinet with 9 drawers
  • Black rook (BR) next to the globe
  • Black knight (BK) on desk
  • White knight (WK) next to the chess board

Read the chess book on the billiard table, then examine the chess board and insert the pieces you have collected:

This create a checkmate for white You're a Wizard.

Radio Circuit

Collect a series of 7 radio circuit pieces from the available rooms:

  • Logic gate in base of the pot plant in the billiard room
  • Logic gate on small round table in the bar room
  • Logic gate on piano in the bar room
  • Radio button on the side of a sofa in the bar room
  • 3 logic gates next to the radio (near the globe)

Next examine the circuit next to the radio. You need to insert the logic gates and press a combination of buttons at the bottom to get power to the radio. One solution is as follows:

  • Turn on the left 3 buttons
  • Across the bottom row, insert an AND gate (curved), XOR gate (triangle with line), and another AND gate (curved)
  • Across the middle row, insert an AND gate (curved), and an OR gate (triangle)
  • Insert the last AND gate (curved) at the top left

Billiard Room Chest

Examine the radio and insert the white button. There are several radio stations you can tune in to. You should pay attention to the numbers that are mentioned in the broadcasts:

  • 710: Number 63
  • 870: Numbers 3 and 1
  • 930: No numbers
  • 1020: Numbers 4 and 1

Go to the billiard room and open the chest with these numbers in order (633141).

Display Cabinet

Collect a series of 5 items from the available rooms:

  • Knife in the wall panel beneath the sliding tile puzzle
  • Pirate hat on the hat stand near the entrance hall
  • Leather glove on the side of a sofa in the bar room
  • Spyglass to the left of the large mechanical chest in the bar room
  • Revolver on the floor beneath a sofa in the bar room

Read the note on the rear shelf in the bar. Examine the display cabinet and add your items to the existing ones in this order: shark tooth, knife, pirate hat, revolver, baseball, leather glove and spyglass.

Mechanical Chest

Examine the chest on the floor of the bar room. The left and right sides of the chest count as separate puzzles. Start with the left side:

  1. Start with the left gauge filled, and the right gauge empty (5, 0)
  2. Move from left to right (2, 3)
  3. Empty the right gauge (2, 0)
  4. Move from left to right (0, 2)
  5. Fill the left gauge (5, 2)
  6. Move from left to right (4, 3)
  7. Empty the right gauge (4, 0)

Now examine the right side:

  1. Start with the right gauge filled, and the other gauges empty (0, 0, 8)
  2. Move from right to middle (0, 3, 5)
  3. Move from middle to left (3, 0, 5)
  4. Move from right to middle (3, 3, 2)
  5. Move from middle to left (5, 1, 2)
  6. Move from left to right (0, 1, 7)
  7. Move from top to left (1, 0, 7)
  8. Move from right to middle (1, 3, 4)
  9. Move from middle to left (4, 0, 4)

Piano Player

There are 2 notes you can find (the first is inside the bar room mechanical chest, and the second is on the bar). Go to the piano and play the keys in the order indicated by these notes: A, B, A, D, D, E, E, D Maestro.

Music Box Dancer

Read the orange book on the rear bench of the bar. Now go to the billiard room and examine the music box. Follow these instructions:

  1. Reset the puzzle by pressing the circular button
  2. Move right (flip the switch up, then press the right button)
  3. Move left (flip the switch down, then press the right button)
  4. Spin left (turn the dial clockwise 180 degrees)
  5. Jump up (press the left button)
  6. Move left (keep the switch down, press the right button)
  7. Move left (keep the switch down, press the right button)
  8. Spin right (turn the dial anti-clockwise 180 degrees)
  9. Jump up (press the left button)
  10. Move right (flip the switch up, then press the right button)
  11. Duck down (press the middle button)

Balance Scales

Collect a series of 5 weights from the available rooms:

  • 1 oz weight next to the scales in the bar room
  • 2 oz weight from the drawer beneath the music box in the billiard room
  • 3 oz weight to the left of the display cabinet in the bar room
  • 4 oz weight in the base of the pot plant to the left of the piano
  • 5 oz weight on a shelf behind the bar

Examine the scales and hang the 5 weights to balance evenly (from left to right, attach the weights in this order: (4, 2, 1, 5, 3).

Compass

Collect a series of 6 black chips from the available rooms:

  • 1 on the bar
  • 2 on the billiard table
  • 3 on the small round table in the billiard room

Now you need to find a series of images of 3 circles on the wall in different places:

  • North: To the right of the small round table in the billiard room
  • East: In the entrance corridor
  • South: Behind the bar in the bar room
  • West: To the right of the vase shelves in the main room

In each case, the top circle refers to the outside of the small round table. Return to the small round table in the billiard room and insert the black discs Which way again?:

Picture Dates

Pick up the picture date plaque from the wall panel beneath the sliding tile puzzle. Grab the others that are currently attached to the pictures around the rooms. Now you need to assign the correct date plaques to each of the pictures, based on changes you can see over time:

  • Mar 13, 1977: Next to the chest in the billiard room (oldest picture)
  • Nov 12, 1984: Next to the chest in the bar room (new bush along driveway)
  • Feb 5, 1989: Near the display cabinet in the bar room (decoration beneath high roof)
  • June 29, 1991: At the end of the entrance corridor (new tree on left)
  • Dec 3, 1997: Next to the radio in the main room (extra upstairs windows)
  • May 30, 1999: Near the entrance of the bar room (aerial on roof)
  • Jan 22, 2004: Near the entrance of the billiard room (new front veranda fence)
  • Aug 8, 2009: Near the vase shelves in the main room (air conditioning unit on ground)

Bar Sign

Collect a series of 5 letter tiles from the bar room:

  • S letter tile from one of the sofas
  • R letter tile from the bar
  • O letter tile from the bar
  • R letter tile from the hidden drawer in the piano
  • B letter tile from the hidden drawer in the piano

Go to the sign over the bar and insert the letter tiles to spell out "BROTHERS SALOON".

Pool Balls

Find a piece of paper on the bar that shows the relationship between 15 circles. Now collect a series of 15 numbered pool balls from the available rooms:

  1. In the hidden drawer behind the bar
  2. Beneath the table with the scales in the bar room
  3. On the billiard table
  4. In the drawer in the small round table in the billiard room
  5. Inside the chest in the bar room
  6. In the hidden drawer beneath the scales in the bar room
  7. On the billiard table
  8. On the desk in the main room
  9. On the bar in the bar room
  10. On the billiard table
  11. In the middle bottom drawer of the wooden cabinet with 9 drawers in the main room.
  12. Inside the chest in the billiard room
  13. On the billiard table
  14. In the hidden compartment in the display case in the bar room
  15. Beneath the picture in the billiard room

Go out to the entrance door and insert the pool balls according to the hints on the piece of paper from the bar:

Open the door, read the note, then sit in the chair Escaped?. There is an extra achievement if you complete the main game in under 30 minutes Speedrun.

Secret Puzzles

Load your game. As suggested in the final note, there are more puzzles you can solve. There is a new puzzle box with 5 segments on the billiard table, and as you solve each puzzle, one of the segments will light up.

Globe (Secret)

Look at the left side of the chess book on the billiard table, and note the extra symbols on the left page. Go back to the globe and click on the markers corresponding to London, Thailand, Bermuda and Seattle.

Music Box Dancer (Secret)

Look at the piece of paper in the trash can next to the piano in the bar room, and note the extra symbols along the bottom. Go back to the billiard room and examine the music box. Follow these instructions:

  1. Reset the puzzle by pressing the circular button
  2. Move left (flip the switch down, then press the right button)
  3. Move left (keep the switch down, press the right button)
  4. Spin left (turn the dial clockwise 180 degrees)
  5. Duck down (press the middle button)
  6. Spin right (turn the dial anti-clockwise 180 degrees)
  7. Duck down (press the middle button)
  8. Move right (flip the switch up, then press the right button)
  9. Move right (keep the switch up, press the right button)

Piano Player (Secret)

Look at the final note near the chair, and note the extra symbols at the bottom. Go back to the bar room and examine the piano. Play the keys in the order indicated by those extra symbols: B, A, G#, A, C, D, C, B, C, E.

Grandfather Clock (Secret)

Read the journal on the chair in the billiard room. Flip to the last page, and note the entry for Day 27. Go back to the main room and examine the grandfather clock. Set the left and middle weights to the bottom position, and the right weight to the top position. Now set the time to 5:30.

Billiard Room Chest (Secret)

Examine the piece of paper on the bar, and note the extra symbols at the top left (Aries and the Howl). The two radio stations that correspond to these are 930 and 870. Go to the billiard room and set the combination on the chest here to these frequencies in order (930870).

Now examine the puzzle box on the billiard table and press the button that has been revealed. Go back to the main room and climb the stairs. Read the note at the top, then open the final door Escaped!.
